walleye wading......

begins this week for me.  look for the short, old guy dragging a heavy stringer of rapala-fed marble eyes.  after the way those fish embarrassed us last year i plan to show no mercy this season.

hard to tell.  water may be on the cooler side but the length of day is right.  i've heard that they're starting to pick them up at mosquito.  my bud is there tonight and i'll post if he does any good.  they're not that far apart in distance.

waders leaking this time of year is so wrong.  lol.  i remember in the days before breathable and lightweight waders everyone wore rubber or canvas.  rubber wasn't bad.  we'd put them on and spray armorall and wipe them down.  the water was shed immediately after leaving the water and prolonged the life of the waders, whether they were american-made lacrosse or the korean steel shank models.

the new are nicer but they are just as fragile.   i've felt your pain before,  thunderpole.

Mine always seem to leak in the worst possible spot. Not fun to take my waders off and find that it looks like i wet myself lol

Ill be up tomorrow night. More than likely starting at snodgrass and work my way north.

Yea, it seems like the young dudes get it done compared too the old farts. Guess I'm somewhere in between. Did bring a chair didn't use it but that is not a good sign  Fished Arthur last night, only a couple Pike & a handful ov Crappie. Water cold & muddy. Did locate some Byrds for when/if we get the boat out next. Young have been doing ok at Pymy from the reports I've been getting.

Yep, My son called a little while ago & wanted to take me out on the boat tomorrow morning for Hybirds. My response was they are calling for snow! Do have a bucket ov minnies on hand so might head out later today but the rain has me second guessing (wimp) Back yard is soft so might not want to mud up to get a boat out either  Maybe "next week" Never mind next week looks cold.

crappy

Did talk to a 70 yr. old guy yesterday getting off the lake in his canoe. Asked if he needed help loading it up but he said it was no problem. He was out for 8 hrs. asked me what the weather was for tomorrow & I said %100 rain. He said he would be back out then

Maybe dumber.... That's it I'm putting on the Gortex & heading out before it gets dark

crappy

With all the muddy water think I'll try glow in the dark jigs & the Wildeye Walleye with glow in the dark eyes. They have produced in the past.

Yeah seen they r doing ok on the Crappie/Perch. My minnies are very small this yr. in the bait pond with way too many Bullfrog Tadpoles to sort through. Prob. give tubes a shot this evening into the night for the Crappie. Still like my canvas chest waders for this time ov yr. Have to load up on some Crawlers soon for the up coming drifts on Pymy.

You still go for the River Flatheads Ed? Miss those outings ov the past.

strictly rapalas for me.  size 11 original floaters in silver, chartreuse or chrome and size 5 shallow running shad raps in the same colors.  if spring ever comes i will try a few new colors this year.

Im sooi happy. Tried my waders on, yinz probably remember the waders that shrunk while sitting in my basement. Well a miracle happened 'cause now they fit so now I need to go try em out and make sure they don't leak. That is if I can just get the darned things back off. Probably should remove the store tags 'cause after 6 years I doubt I can sell em as NIB.

Mopars I'd be happy to help..... if I could just remember, what you needed help with.

OHhh Goody.. it's pouring down rain!!!

I'm so happy!!!

Easy peasy Steve, I just note the position of the sun when I leave then head right back towards it when I want to return to the dock.  Except, most of the time, the the sun is straight up when I'm leaving.  But....  sometimes it works and if it don't, I just stand in the bow of the boat cupping my hands over my mouth while stomping my feet and screaming !!!!!

Easy peasy fix on the double click too.  Just edit one, do a delete and do like I do.... say something stupid or post a dancing banana or something.  Sometimes it works...... the guyz like the dancing banana.

Flat raps, shadow raps, and f11s here. Sometimes when the waters up shallow diving bay rats.
