Congrats D's welcome to the club...
Had 3 bucks around me this morning spike 4 pt and a small legal buck. They chased some does into bedding area and even did some head butting for 15 minutes.I just enjoyed the show.Getting ready to go back out took a 2 hour lunch/work break.WCW

Heys D's get your self some lighted nocks for your bolts you will be able to see the bolt hit deer much easier. They are pricey but well worth it in my opinion.WCW

Sit in stand this afternoon 3:00 to dark saw no deer, made a mock scrape earlier put some doe pee on it to see if I could get some action . Well rattled off and on , grunted some but nothing . Well I did have some action though ...I see this brown running up the path toward me get closer turns out itโ€™s the dog that was there last night and it white buddy that the lady was walking along the edge of the field... anyhow they hit the mock scrape smelled it and both peeโ€™d on it and then left the area.... well all I could do was laugh ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ‘. Itโ€™s almost dark so I leave and when I hit the field yep there was 5 doe and 2 smaller bucks in the other field so I just enjoyed the buck butting heads for a short time...another exciting hunt ...have things to do tomorrow so next week I guess.. good luck guys !!

Dardy's no hunter could or would ever, argue with your buddy.  I don't know of any recipe that uses 'buck horn' in deer baloney.  Congratulations on your first archery kill and bravo for shooting to kill.

Thank you all for your congrats.

It was an interesting experience to say the least.

Of course, I had to pull the cam cards yesterday and find that the transient monster was around the day before, so it is a safe bet he is still in the area.

He will be 4.5 next year if he makes it and will become the quest buck now that I know I can actually do this quasi archery thing.

Best of luck this week to all.

I walked about 30 yards and there was the buck dead as a door nail right on the farm road where I had lost sight of it.

Super slow for me over the past three days. Seen two small legal bucks and 3 dinks. 5 does total. Zero rut action.

Did manage to arrow this bearded hen on Thursday's hunt.

Way to go on the turkey dpms.

Tried another long sit on Friday from 11-6:30 with no results. One lone doe came in early yesterday morning watching nervously behind her the 20min she was around. Kept waiting for a buck to materialize, but it never happened. Didn't make it out last night. One more day to hunt tomorrow, so I'm hopeful everything finally comes together. Good luck this last week!

It was a dark and dreary morning, in the Pennsylvania Wilds........ stupid dark a dreary morning!!!

Dang, that was some kind of weather system that tore through my little piece of Penn's Woods last night.  Thunder, lightening, wind and heavy rain.  Wind now blowing  from the north pushing rain in sheet like waves, across the east 10, but not to fret the weather dude says to expect sunshine later on today.  Not only that, we can expect sunshine throughout the coming week, how great is that?

If we don't don't see, some silly season soon, I'm gonna start thinking something realllllllllly weird may going on.

Good luck to yinz making it out today and remember, always shoot, to kill.

http://www.goerie.com/news/20171106/nearly-3-inches-of-rain-falls-on-erie-region-from-storm

Two people were killed last night from the storms up in Erie Co.  Guess they were sheltering in the basement due to the tonrnado and the basement wall collapsed due to flooding.  Sad.

My last day out was last Friday afternoon.  Went in early (1pm) did a quick scout on some trails and found many fresh scrapes.  Heard some snorting from the direction the wind was blowing too during my walk but that was the only evidence of deer I saw/heard that evening.  I was in my stand by 2pm.  Did have a really big coyote come through around 3:30pm but closest it got was 50 yds and I couldn't call it in.  Had bow in hand rather than my camera so no video.

About 4:30pm, got busted by a flock of turkeys trying to switch out my arrows.  I didn't want to try and shoot one with a rage so was trying to switch out to a Schwacker but, one of the old biddy hens caught me moving from 60 yds out and the putted out the ridge in the direction they came from.  That was it.
Truck broke/lost power steering on my way home.  Luckily I was close and didn't have to drive too far but the noise was god awful.  The cooler/lines rusted out and I dumped all the fluid.  Hopefully it will be fixed today.  Something I would normally do myself but, since its hunting season and weekends are booked with kids sports....I gots to pa DA MAN to do the dirty work.

Stuck a good one this morning at 7:30 in the middle of a downpour. Almost didn't go out but I always say there is no substitute for time in the stand. Really nice 8 point with 11 inch G2s.

One down one to go. I shot an 8pt in Ohio at 5:13 pm today.  22 yard shot broadside shot, double lung,40 yard dash and crash.  Rage in the cage. It's been real slow for me, and probably why I shot him. Getting older, all bucks are good. lol

However, I am running short of bucktail for my jigs. So let me know when you got that one prepared and ready for shipping and I'll PM my address. And remember, shipping is always free..... lol ๐Ÿป

On the getting older part, I hear ya. Getting my buck out of the woods and loaded up was an ordeal in an of itself. I can't imagine hunting now where I used to hunt in my twenties. I would still be in there dragging it out.

Just the reason the antler restrictions burn my butt.  You think it's bad now, wait till you get old.  Many of the ole boys ain't got the legs they once had, preventing them from trekking  the Pennsylvania wilds in pursuit of the elusive hat rack white tail, so they hunt no more

I wish I could show you the number of bucks I had to pass up in my back yard (stupid AR) in the past ten years but I can't, the Amish don't permit pictures of their kids posing with their deer.

Us old boys; the ones who spent the money back in the day; the ones who pushed the heritage of hunting into the minds, of the young- so they would carry on; have absolutely no-one to blame but ourselves.  We allowed the PGC to become what it is today as we accepted and permitted, one of the grandest smoke jobs in PA hunting history.

PGC was once charged with the survival of wild game in PA, but now scramble, for the survival of the PGC.

So what will it be under the tree for the young hunter this year; a new 30/30 or the Tablet with "Deer Hunter" installed?  What will the talk be, among school mates would you think; points on my buck or, points on my Google Play?

To the PGC I say good job, yinz made your bed, sleep in it!!

Hehh hehh heh...... silly me, got carried away.  Dam Cabin Fever!!!!

Good luck to those who continue to hunt and remember, shoot to kill.
