SMALLMOUTH IN THE BAY
Heading up in 3 weeks ... Are the smallest biting in the bay yet... Anyone with current water temps...

Bay temp around 57 at Perry's. There are some smallies in the bay but you have to work for them in 8- 10 FOW. Saw many boats at Thompsons over the last 3 days but saw few fish caught. Cool temp for the rest of this week. Don't see them getting on the beds until it warms up a little more. These cool fronts keep putting them down.

I fished last Tuesday in the channel I boated 15 small mouth ..no real size yet on tubes they are there you have to make them bite...going to get better ......nothing on the flats ......

Fished yesterday Morning for a few hours in the bay. We were tucked behind the channel wall where it heads into the bay with about another 6-7 boats. Everyone was catching them on brown tubes. I tied on a drop shot with a wacky rig and caught 2 immediately. No net so only got 3 into the boat but other guys were pulling them in one after an other.

Fished from shore today. Going for the big smallmouth bite, didn't even get the little smallmouth bite. Tried everything I had but I couldn't even get a nibble. I'm blaming it on the cold front.

Fished yest from 4-7:30. Clay banks and the bay. Only caught 3 smallies. Weather was perfect.

Been lucky ,never got skunked yet in several trips, always some kind of spring time action.....so far. Yesterday was still not bad........ 5 fat smallies and one big sucker.....no steel. Perfect day for fishing !

Very slow . All the mile creeks not many fish at all . My mom got 1 in the lagoons. No beds yet.

Found probably 15-20 bronzebacks in one of the tiny Tribs yesterday between two holes. Lots of nice White Suckers and a few Steelhead left too. Got one of each myself, they were finicky but it's nice to just watch them.

Looks like temperatures are going to drop off a little for the weekend after 80's mid week. Not sure what that will do to the bass. They should be on the beds any day now. Everyone I talk to has said PI and the creeks have been very slow due to the cold temps. Now let see what happens after some 80 degree weather. Is it going to happen and when?
Also bait shop have had little success getting shiners on the beaches. Not sure what that is about.

Fished the lake 4/14 from clay banks to the stacks, only caught 1. Didn't really see anyone doing any good all day including in the bay. I threw everything at them worst trip in while although the weather was beautiful. Today 4/16 should be a hell of a day temps are on the rise so Bay should light up here soon.
