Had Cabelas 5mm neo with 1200 gram Thinsulate in the boots for a few years back when I started duck hunting. Waaayyy too warm for walk in hunting I did. Sweat like crazy and then be cold after an hour. Leaked after a few years at the boot seam.
When Cabelas took 'em back, I got 3 mm stockingfoot Cabelas brand. Those have been really good. Going on about 8 years now with no issues. Warm, but not so warm that I sweat a lot. Stockingfoot is a little unconventional for duck hunters who wade in a lot of muck and soft bottoms, but lace up your boots good and tight and you'll be good.
