Rocky hunting boots beware they fall apart !
Just wanted to share an experience with hunters about Rocky gortex hunting boots I have. I have a pair of Rocky's I bought years ago and haven't worn them that much. I prefer a higher rubber hunting boot the past few years. Anyway I have them stored in my garage on a shelf with other shoes and boots I wear on and off as seasons go by. I decided to go hunting the other day and grabbed the Rocky's. Well I put them on and noticed the soles were kind of sticky while walking in my garage. Thinking no more about it I headed out. When I started walking while hunting once again they felt weird. Arriving home later I noticed black marks on my garage floor and when I looked at the boots this is what I had ! The soles were perfect when I started and completely disintegrated in one day ! I have no receipt from Boot Box in Meadville it's been awhile. Sent an E-Mail to Rocky Co. no reply yet . My son had a pair of Rocky's do the same exact thing he just tossed them in the garbage ! Said I'll never buy their junk again! Just a heads up fellow hunters !

I had the very same thing happen to a pair of Rocky's, Captain. Also purchased at Boot Box, not that it is their fault.
I used them for 1 1/2 hunting seasons. Tossing them halfway through the second season.
Thanks for the heads-up.

I usually buy a closeout pair of Wolverine's or Rocky at the Boot Box tent sale, get 2 years of them and think nothing of it, since they are sold so cheap. I think my next pair will be Danner or Irish Setter. I think some of the higher end Danners still made in the USA

I believed I paid about 80.00 bucks, just amazed how they crumbled apart! I highly doubt I'll buy a Rocky product ever again. I got a pair of high rubber Itasca's that work great for me past two ,three years. They have those holes in the top for pulling up or carrying....best idea...works great! I see I'm not alone with the Rocky rejects ! Buyer beware !

Never liked Rocky's. Junk and they always hurt my feet. The very old Ohio made ones where better made but still hurt my feet.

Bought a pair of Rocky boots 20+ years ago when the camo cordura ones were all the rage for bow hunters. They leaked like crazy after a couple months.
Never bought another Rocky product since then.

Over the years I have had a couple pairs of Rocky's One pair of semi pak boots I have had for 9 years and still going strong ( I only wear these boots for late season and ice fishing ) just bought a pair right at gun season no issues yet. I put a few miles on them. We'll see how they last. P.S. the semi pak boots are always stored inside maybe that's why the lasted ?

Do a search, plenty of complaints out there. I have a pair sitting in the garage, Rocky bear claws or something like that with 2000g insulation. Don't wear them much but the soles are falling apart a little. I wear my lacrosse insulated rubber boots almost exclusively now.

I have owned both hunting and steel toe ones. 2 year max soles wear out or leak so bad you cant wear them.

Yea they show a lot of customer concern so far. I wrote them 2 E-mails just to see if they would reply or comment and as of today ...nothing ! Must know they have a defect issue ! I did store them on a shelf in my garage and only wore them several times a year. Kept them clean after using too. Funny how other boots I have and are stored the same way have no issues. Also the rest of the boot is fine just junk rubber soles, but that's the most important part ! I'll never buy anything with a Rocky name again, can't be trusted !!!!!
