Good luck tomorrow outasync. I'll be up around the Tuttle/Manning area in the AM with a buddy from work.

BTDT, here's to hoping you feel better and get out to enjoy the brisk winter weather. I'm still getting over a chest cold, but it's partially state of mind. I'm sure catching a few fish thru a 6" hole will help the healing process :)

Thank you Crappy_Slayer, I had to make a tough decision and stay out of the ground blind for another day, hoping to get into the ice shanty a day or two sooner. I think it may have worked but, time will tell.

Take care of that chest cold, no need for that to return with a vengeance.

May you drill over a honey hole.

Finally got out today and hit a new spot in the Tuttle area. Ice was nice and clear. Varied from 3 1/2" close to shore, went to 5, then down to 4" where we decided to setup. Few inches of snow on top. Tried running the tipups, but the wind howled the entire time making it a futile effort. Ended up catching 4 nice perch, 1 small crappie, and 1 slab. Slow day but was nice to be out while I could. Looks like some more warm weather and rain this week to mess it all up again. Might try to sneak out of work a little early tomorrow and get one more trip in.

I got to go fishin'....... I got to go fishin...... I didn't catch no stupid fish..... Stupid fish!!!

Only out 'bout an hour before sundown and drilled a few holes where some "tire reefs" were said to be found (stupid Navionics phone app).

Ice at the first bore hole measured (actual measurement) was 4" with the others coming in at 5.

Ice was singing it's song doinking, boinking with occasional shivers and pops.

Spoke with several other ice holers in the area and they reported some success with crappy and white bass.

Sorry but yinz know I don't spot burn. However, there was one feller said he caught quite a few White Bass, as we talked in the parking lot of the swim beach.

I sure hope the climate change forecast for this week, don't hurt the ice too bad.

Squirmed out of work early today to get out one more time before the impending warmup. Fished from 2:30-5:30 in the same area as yesterday. Caught a few nice perch right off the bat, then a lull, then the last 45 min the bite was on. Ended up with 5 fat crappie and 3 perch. Threw back a half dozen more and a catfish. The bigger fish were much more responsive to the heavy metal today. Would come 3ft off the bottom and crush my spoon.

Stupid monsoon but hey, if there is a flash freeze I'll be able to ice fish off my front porch... 10-4?

Keep smiling Crappy_Slayer we'll be back on the ice soon!!!

I hope 😩

I want my ice..... stupid climate change!!!

Tried posting pictures taken at Shenango yesterday but my 'puter pooped the bed....... stupid 'puter!!! But have no fear, yinz are in luck, I still got my phone. Just can't post any pictures ' cause it's a "stupid phone"😜

Parking lot at the recreation area launch off of 18 is collecting a nice pile of slightly used Christmas trees. If there is no ice this year, there may be a good buy on next season's tree.

Geez, deer season just ended yesterday and already yinz are feeling effects of my "cabin fever".

It's gonna be a looong winter.... pray for thick ice or open water.

I don't always ice fish when it's almost 60 degrees in January, but when I do it's from a boat.

Tried Conneaut lake for a few today with no luck. My buddy caught one perch and that was it. Drove out and took a look at pymy. North end around espyville was locked up as far as I could see. South of the causeway had quite a bit of open water

Seriously. The tease of cold weather followed by 50 degrees is getting old. Groundhog predicted 6 more weeks of winter.....but we never got the first 6.

You still been out chasing them bunnies with the hound Tuna?

Looking at the extended forecast into next week.

Stupid groundhog.......

Phil's prediction for 6 more weeks of winter must be scheduled for the last of November to the end of December.
