Saw 8-10 that Crappie missed this evening. Actually I see some most every evening that I'm out & about.

Look at the date on the image.  He's dead already.  Probably sausage and bologne by now.

      Mike,

I didn't even take a shot this year & last year I shot a mature doe & it didn't drop right away. Got the boys rounded up together for a exp. on trackin without snow about 20 min later. Took alittle while to find blood then it was purdy easy. We ended up about 40 yrds. away from where she layed & a man & a little boy ran up to it & claimed it. 2 of my boys went up to it & told me it only had one hole through it. I've droped em on the spot & some wackos shootin at em runnin across fields would claim em also. I just shake my head & grin alittle.

My son Matt wacked a buck about 10 days ago with his truck behind the house. That makes 9 bucks that I know of taken from behind the house (within 300 yrds.) this year from the boys & friends (some of the antlers were already sheded) I don"t even hunt back there

But on a good note if you want some Hick or He snack sticks stop over I made a batch Sat. (yesterday)

I quit my job on Tues. so I'm thinkin bout taken the next 5 -6 months off for some fishin. The old lady aint buyin it as of yet. But schel come around. Too bad she don't eat fresh fish or wild game or it would be a piece of cake. Aint goe'n back till atleast after the night bite.

Stop over for some snacks./ o/K.?

7 pt. is still alive.  Not sure about the 9 pt.  Good chance he is.  Any deer not seen on the road consistently where I hunt, is likely alive.  Never saw that fella from the vehicle.    Just two trail cam pics, one velvet, other not.

Been seeing a lot on my daily drive to and from work from West Mifflin to Hempfield Twp. in both Allegheny and Westmoreland Counties.  Of course, lots of sightings on posted ground but have had several sightings on or near ground that was open to hunting.  Also, lots of the posted land is accessible if you take the time to research the Owner and ask.

PSU did a study a few years ago about landowners.  Most of them would allow hunting but the main reason they post their property is because they want to know who is using their property.  You no deer guys go ask permission alot?    Or are you too stubborn?  Worried about a crushed ego?

I saw about 8 great bucks in one field, biggest a 14 pt last year on private ground.  Walked the back side, because it's public and concluded based on the terrian I'd need permission if I would hope for a crack at that big one.  I was told no because his children hunted there.  First time I ever asked to hunt a property and I didn't melt away... I'm still here.  What's the worst one could say...

Who's like Mr. Brady and Belicheat and can't accept to lose?

    Who Brady?? LOL

Gary Alt is not my hero like you think he is.   Really.  I did used to see a big buck every 3 or 4 years before AR.

I'm not attempting to rub it in anyone's face.  If I offend you, then sorry.

BUT .. because him and Belicheat are such sore losers (there's sad lookin' pictures all over the internet like that one), I think the pic is funny.  It may be hard to tell but it's him leaving the field early.  I wouldn't have minded if they would have won IF they weren't so , I don't know -- unsportman's like, or have such lack of class.  Although, I DON'T and never did like Rodney Harrison.  The whole story from day one to Brady laughing at Plax's prediction is hilarious.   I needed something there anyway.

That is a stealthcam I390.  About $100 on ebay.

I used it from July - November.  Ended up the original batteries had 3/4 left.  wow!!  I don't like -- trigger speed is 4.5 seconds.

I was onto a real nice buck, waited until the rut to get some pics of him.  Went in .. in the pourin' rain to set the camera up, 4 days later, pourin' rain took it out. Got 15 pictures.  Slipped out of my hand and broke walking to the house!!!  Never got the pics!!!  dumas!!!

Stealth cam charged me for $80 for a refurbished one.  I got to pick what I wanted.   That's their policy.  Got a WD2, haven't got a pic yet of deer.  Trigger speed is like 2 seconds.  I do question the pic quality though.  I'll take the tradeoff.   WD3, I hear is a good one.

Never going to catch me spend a bunch of money on trail cam's as long as I hunt public ground.

I got a trail cam for fathers day last year.  I wouldn't have bought it myself but my son picked it out. Just before archery I talked him into setting it up behind the house on a good trail. We got one set of pictures with the back end of a doe on one and a set of ears on another. Then someone felt they were the owner not us and stold it. We leave people hunt and fish our property, hope they sleep at night.

I've seen a couple of does in the yard this year, not as many as usual, or as often, but I know of at least two "local" deer that were killed.  I've gone out with fresh snow on the ground twice this year and I'm sure the deer are still around.

I cannot a pic on my camera if I tried.  Have had it up since December. I just want to see the quality of the pic.  I don't look too good on it.  It's so frustrating.  Day after day I come up with nothing.  **** PGC!!!!

My reports and advice are for everyone to enjoy, not just the paying customers.

When do you think the PA game commission will shut down hunting to bring back the deer heard - or do you think they want to exterminate the heard all to gether and start fresh

What's the deal with North American Whitetail Magazine rating PA as #1 state for managing deer????   9 out of 10 rating.

The reason there are still so many in allegheny is that the game comm doesnt have control there. Too much posted land to save deer......All around the state high deer populations are found around high concentrations of posted land.

Better too far back, than too far forward.

theres a ton of posted land around mercer county still no deer.  i hunt on posted property not nearly the deer that use to be there.  also having the problem of ppl walking in off unposted property or just walking right in i had ppl sit right underneath my treestand during archery and didn't even know i was there

The numbers in Allegheny county will never get cut down as low as other places because the deer thrive in places where they cannot be hunted.  Not just posted lands, but industrial properites that are totally fenced and patrolled, or woodlots so small, they are all technically within a safety zone entirely, or small thickets that are completely surrounded by homes or businesses.  Airport properties which are guarded.  Most places like this can only be hunted by archers and they'll never get all those deer.
