PIB & Lake Erie Smallmouth Trip Saturday, May 21st?

PIB & Lake Erie Smallmouth Trip Saturday, May 21st?

Brother N Law coming in from NC and has never been fishing for smallies.  Was at PIB last Monday, water temp on lake was in high 40s and PIB was around 50 with not much smallie action.  Anyone having any luck over the past week, has the numbers increased in the bay and how is the bite now.  Hate to make the 3 - 4 hour trip for one day if smallies haven't really turned on yet.

    The warm weather should have them biting. I have caught them when the wind let me stay in the bay. Calling for good weather and calm winds.

    Showers early, becoming a steady rain later in the day. High around 60F. Winds ENE at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 90%. Rainfall near a quarter of an inch.

    I was in Uniontown, Pa this past weekend for an archery tournament. Sat weather was TERRIBLE! I was glad to not be on the lake. Zippy, glad you had a good catch on Sunday! June 11 is coming soon! Cant wait to get up there!

    I was in Uniontown, Pa this past weekend for an archery tournament. Sat weather was TERRIBLE! I was glad to not be on the lake. Zippy, glad you had a good catch on Sunday! June 11 is coming soon! Cant wait to get up there! 

    Ya you must not have been in Erie then. Didn't ran much at all Saturday and just drizzled Sunday. Fished the creeks and caught about 10-15 few smallness and handful of steelheads and stockie Browns. Creek was low and clear

    it rained all afternoon in Erie on Saturday I pulled out at 1 and it rained till about 7:30 And did not rain at all Sunday

    yep, that's the way I remembered sat and sunday as well. Absolutely poured the rain sat for 1/2 day in Uniontown.
