Re: Trump... 2020/10/22 11:53:41 (permalink)
Been watching this thread for a while now, interesting...
I travel most of western PA and a good bit of south west NY for my work, what I'm seeing is Trump signs outnumbering Biden signs by a very large amount

Most of the Trump signs are in front of businesses (trucking companies, excavation & construction and sawmills) with mom & pop gas stations following suit.
It seems that most of the Biden signs are in front of private residences that "appear" to be older or retired folks. (manicured lawns, newer car in driveway, nice garden)

It's cute though, you see a Biden sign in front of a house and the next 3 houses each direction beside that house have multiple Trump signs in front of them!

In my neck of the woods, EVERY Amish house has at least one Trump sign in front of it, too!

One natural gas company has one of those big trash bag pumpkins in front of their shop, beside it is a 4x8 plywood sign that says "we wanted to dress like a democrat for Halloween".

Yep, I agree with your observation.  It also seems like the company guys who put up signs put up A LOT of them.  One business in our area must have spent thousands of dollars on signage.  5 or 6 on his main truck garage, multiples in a trailer lot and another 5 or six big signs on another building he owns.  Still only gets one vote though

What I’ve noticed about signs in my area is that the Trump signs are ones which are purchased (the sign or flag placer invested their money to do so) and the Biden signs are the run of the mill election campaign signs (the sign placer got it for free from the campaign volunteers).

Why does Fox keep giving print to Donna Brazil- A past Cnn commentator and DNC officer who gave the CNN debate questions to Hillary BEFORE a debate.
Lost her job at DNC for that and now does commentator work for Fox-
wouldnt be surprised if they have her on during tonights debate with others like Williams and Wallace.
If I wanted those points of view I could just watch msnbc.
And they call fox bias.

In other news.....

Pelosi on TV doing hero shots, taking credit for doing nothing.... again.

IMO, seeing Pelosi speaking before the news media.... is a sure sign, she is losing the House of Swampcrats.

This is interesting. I've seen the exact opposite where I live. Nearly every Trump Flag/Sign "No More BS" or " F your feelings" are ones that are bought, and give nothing to the campaign.

My Biden Sign took a while to ship, so I bought one online for 10 bucks in the interim (but made sure to match that donation to the campaign). Luckily the "I paid more than Donald Trump in Income Taxes" stickers came super fast.

I counted 45 Biden signs to 9 Trump signs in the mike drive from my house to the Walgreens today. Biden owns the Southern PGH burbs. The city is more along the lines of 10:1 for Biden. Trump can have all the signs he wants in the sticks. Will make good bonfire material in a few weeks.

Had some trees cut down and trimmed that were too close to the house in Linesville today. The tree chopper owner asked why the Trump signs were on the back patio and not in the yard? He said he had 4 in his at Eppsyville. Told him the lady next door gave 'em to me and they make great target stands. Glad I asked what the bill was and paid him just before

Lady next door was at the rally (Trump) the other night in Erie. People must be really wacked out to go to those things especially nowadays. Should have heard the crowd silence when Trump said he "would have never came to Erie" Hurt lots ov feelings LOL.  Crawford county had more outbreaks today than Erie for the first time since this started.

Pork,
The couple plans I traveled through in Jefferson Hills were about 75% Trump, 25% Biden, with the majority of yards with NO signage.  Hopefully the silent majority comes through again...

What plans were you driving through???  By "plans", do you mean some of the hollow roads between the populated sections, where there are 5 houses that have their lawns littered with Trump signs?  I have not seen anything close to this in Jefferson Hills, Pleasant Hills, South Park, Baldwin, Bethel Park, or USC.  In the populated sections your numbers are flipped, if not more.

The silent majority will come through.  It is not the one you think of though.  The population centers of this country have always had lower voter turnout.  They are already shattering records with early turnout.  Last night isn't changing anyone's mind either.  Although it was nice to see that Trump still has the ability to act presidential for at least a short period of time.  I haven't checked what he has tweeted yet, but I am confident his ability to stay presidential is limited.

Re: Trump... 2020/10/23 10:24:55 (permalink)
Joe made it clear last night- NO more fossil fuels by 2035.

No more gas engines- cars -heavy equipment for construction- airplanes and shipping  for travel and food delivery- lawnmowers and yard equipment-Heat and electricity-washers and driers- emergency generators in hospitals and homes -etc etc etc-

Batteries arent made to date to allow those heavy vehicles to do their work and cars are quite limited in range for electric,

California is trying versions of this and even with them shipping in electric power from other states WITH fossil fuel used to make said electricity they have 'rolling blackouts'

Of course  other countries are NOT doing the same so nothing will be accomplished in regard to air quality or global warming..

Only forever changing your lifestyle while upping the costs of EVERYTHING--
Can you possibly imagine the cost of electric from those 'alternative sources ??
Not to mention all those outa work as the result.

Just drove to Jefferson Hospital, taking said hollows. Counting homes only and not actual signs, 11 Biden and 7 Trump (including the neighborhoods that I drove through too). Going through the actual neighborhoods like I did the other day, it is clearly more Biden. Those living in those hollows seem to be more Trump. I’ll have to count those only at some point.

Personally I’ve been surprised by the number of Biden signs I’ve seen in rural areas. The fact that I see any Biden signs at all in places like Smithton, West Newton, Layton, Brookville, New Bethlehem, Black Lick, Nanty Glo, Oakdale, Finleyville and Butler county is surprising, to me at least. Trump support is still pretty strong in those areas for sure, but the Biden campaign seems to have a presence in those places that Clinton did not.

As far as the suburbs, I don’t know that counting signs is a good indicator of support, but I’m pretty sure Biden will outperform Trump in those areas this time around. I think those areas will follow 2018 trends rather than the pattern they did in 2016.

Yep, completely agree.  There is a presence that didn't exist with Hillary.  I don't know if I remember seeing more than one or two Hillary signs.  It is still Trump country in my rural utopia but ol Joe is holding his own for sure.
edit***Saw a Jo Jorgensen sign the other day too...she's no Gary Johnson, that's for sure.

I agree about the signs.  I talk to a good bit of people in my community and most do not have signs.  I would say among the guys in my community, it is about 2:1 Biden with others that seem to not talk politics.  The moms in the area are almost all unified against Trump.  Most of my community is pretty in the center type people with slight left or slight right leanings.  I don't have many ultra left leaning people living near me, that I at least know.  I would think it were someone like Mitt Romney or John Kasich, my neighborhood would be about 50/50, if not more towards them over Biden.

People are fed up with Trump, not necessarily his policies.  They are fed up with the divisiveness that Trump thrives in.  The name calling of anyone that doesn't agree.  The other GOP politicians that don't stick up for their beliefs knowing they will be blasted by Trump for it.

My life doesn't change if Trump gets another 4 years or Biden gets in.  I don't buy the socialism BS nor to I buy the fascism BS.  Are there elements of each, definitely.  But there are checks and balances in our government that keeps those elements on the fringes.  I really hope that the Senate and House would adopt Supermajorities for everything.  Without, it just seems to be no compromising.  If we have the majority, you have to deal with what we want.  It is sickening, we need to get back to a place where we can agree to disagree.

Your right- dont know how to feel about that- its a big deal no matter how ya look at  it.
Think of the people ya know affiliated with govt and then think of how many you would trust to perform a fingerprint comparison where YOUR VOTE is determined valid or not.
Even in the PD we hadda send that kinda stuff out for an expert to compare- not some guy who volunteered to be a ballot official.
Imagine the TIME involved with actual pros having to verify--------
But then no verification at all opens up pandoras box to those prone to illegal acts.

This is a state issue, you cannot appeal the State Supreme Court to Federal. This is the end ruling.

They appeal state Supreme Court rulings to SCOTUS all the time. They just recently appealed the PA mail in ballot extension, which SCOTUS deadlocked at 4-4 so it wasn’t overturned.

https://apnews.com/articl...6f436e27ed7de52921aab3

Awhile back they also appealed the PA state court decisions on re-districting to SCOTUS, but they declined to hear the case.

The rulings on voting issues are troubling tho, because the PA state constitution is apparently pretty specific about the state having absolute authority on the voting process. But that 4-4 decision on the ballot extension could have easily been 5-4 (if Amy Barrett was on the court) to overturn the PA state ruling, which is not consistent with “states rights” and federalism all that.

I think that right after this election, win or lose, Trump should immediately ask for Wray's resignation. If he refuses, he should be fired. He clearly is doing nothing to straighten out or clean up the FBI and work toward restoration of their reputation. And it may not just be the higher echelons of the Bureau. Why aren't many of the regular agents screamin' about what's goin' on? The Swamp has some really deep spots in it.

Predict that very soon now LEAKS will begin from selected lib states and mail in voting  places in Lib cities declaring Joe the winner- in an effort to manipulate the election day turnout by trying to make it look like he already won.
