It will be totally impossible to impeach POTUS yes a simple majority in house to impeach BUT a super majority in senate that's 67 votes . Fat chance that's going to happen and end result would be acquittal. I actually would love the dumocrats to go thru with it would alsmost be a slam dunk for him in 2020.

I agree on convicting, but was same thing as Clinton. Republicans back then knew no chance in heck of getting through the Senate, but did it anyway. The Dems thought the same retaliation by voters back then. But then lost the next election. History is on their side to impeach and put him through the hassle. It also slows the pushing of his agenda, just as it did to Clinton.

I don’t think it is right for them to do, but has doing the right thingever stopped politicians? Thank Newt Gingrich, the master of divisive politics.

They have been screaming IMPEACH for the simple reason of IMPEACH in order to RESIST for the sake of RESISTING.
No special reason, just do it because ya lost 2 years ago--idiots.
Remember the 'blue dress' from the white house thingie , covered with evidence, which led to the Clinton thing- no comparison to -just for funzies, press time and RESISTANCE for its own sake.
PULEEEZE don't you libs start bringing up past stuff from before the White House in some painfull effort to compare.
Unless ya want to bring up Billy stuff---lol.

No D- not going back and forth with ya -  waste of ink.

Again, not saying it is right. Just
saying that I would be shocked if they didn’t do it. History says it is a good way to slow the agenda and not have the consequences that many would think. Hopefully they don’t play politics as usual. But honestly, can’t
see that not happening. Just a predictable action in a divisive climate.

So, what'a'ya think will happen about the Pineapple Princess as Speaker? She gave that speech late Tuesday night or maybe it was Wednesday about reaching across the aisle and working with the Republicans in the spirit of bi-partisanship, but it didn't sound like anything I had heard from her previously right up to winning the House back. 59 party members against her. Will she prevail, or will they choose or elect another speaker? I think she's over-the-hill anyway.

She will probably get the speaker job but I don't see her keeping it. As far as reaching across the aisle, HA, ya, when pigs fly. All we are going to see in my humble opinion is two years (at least) of the democrats in the house doing all they can to undermine and derail anything the President wants to get accomplished. I am fully aware that members of his own party have also been problematic in regard to implementing his agenda. I for one am totally fed up with the constant bickering between both parties. I wish that they would put party partisanship aside and try and get along and do what is in the best interest of the majority of the citizens of this still great country, key word here being "Citizens." Too many special interest groups and too much money pouring into these campaigns have corrupted the system. I have no idea how things will ever improve in that regard.

Exactly the way I see it too.

The major issue is, those that are willing to work across the aisle, end up being targets of their own base.  There is a clear attack on moderate lawmakers among the base (and their media).  If we keep voting those members in, it is just approving those actions, and willing to outdo themselves.

I couldn't agree more on the need to stop special interest groups pouring money in.  But if you try to stop it, the Supreme court defends it as freedom of speech.  Even more so now, with another "conservative" justice.  They have become more and more political pawns than anything.  All of which are out to keep the best interest of the citizens at arms length.

It cuts both ways though the senate can derail any of the dumocrats agenda(Thank GOD) And the senate will continue to fill conservative justices in all areas of the judiciary.Esp the Supreme Court. The house wont be able to impeach anyone the senate will acquit. So it behoves the house to work together as much as possible with the administration to get some things done. I don't see the POTUS agenda being that out of the mainstream though But I do see free everything, open borders, higher taxes, more regulations and flat out socialism as a problem.

Even if it tanks any cooperative efforts to create positive actions for the Country and even if it tanks any possible positive reactions for Dems in 2020.

It was in Clinton’s second term that he was forced to work with Gingrich and Congress with him.

Hopefully, lesson learned to both sides.

Might be fun ( but frustrating) to watch though.

Pretty sure there are politicians (both sides) that are in politics primarily to get their faces in front of cameras.  It is pretty sickening to tune into CNN or FoxNews, to have the same dozen or so politicians constantly in front of a camera, spouting out garbage, that like said, not sure if they even believe half of it.  Only thing good about it is, they often have clips of them arguing the opposite side of a topic, which are played to show how hypocritical most are.

Speaking of hate and rancor.  KDKA News just said that Hillary Clinton is planning to run for president in 2020...

I wonder if she is being funded by the Trump campaign?  Nothing says, slam dunk of a second term, than running against Hillary again.

Re: Trump... 2018/11/12 21:04:09 (permalink)
The way Pelosi is talkin' on the news, it's like she's already been coronated as Speaker. Does she get that position strictly on seniority or do they hold a vote? (She's gonna have some opposition). Just saw earlier on the news that the 'Crats have 21 (or maybe it was 25) items that they will have investigations on when they take over in January. If investigations are all they're gonna do, they're liable to lose big in 2020. Even Ed Rendell, former Mayor of Philadelphia and former governor of Pa, and current DNC power broker has stated that they need to legislate, not investigate, or they'll have dire results in 2020. I'm really sick of it all, myself. Every day (for more than two years), it's the same old political cat fights in the news; meanwhile, the pols are doin' nothing for the American people. They have that "hurray for us, and the hell with the people" attitude, and I've really grown weary of it. I'd like to hear some good news. Get somethin' done on infrastructure, immigration, or how about workin' on a balanced budget. (Are you crazy, man)? We don't need no stinking balanced budget! We've lived on continuing resolutions for the past 10 years in place of a balanced budget. I mean, really, Congress people are the elite. Why should they have to uphold the Constitution? After all, they know better.

Liberalism always generates the exact opposite of its stated intent.

Now for the VA, neighbor is recently retired from a life in the Army. Nephew did multiple tours in Afghanistan and Iraq. First serving with the 92nd then reupping with the 101st where he was injured riding in a junk Humvee from an IED. Yep, our military has some great equipment.

Refresh my memory if ya would. Who is it again that manufactures Humvee and who bailed that company out when?

What is it both these men like? Simple, they like that things are being done, like no load employees being fired for not doing their work. They like seeing promises carried out by someone who does what he says. Unlike McCain who promised he would do something about deficiency's then doing nothing. These men enjoy seeing their fellow veterans finally receiving the help they need when they need it not when the VA wanted to give it.

Did I mention my nephew is now employed as a law enforcement officer. You know, what the BLM wants to "fry like bacon".

So do tell, what's your floor supplier have to say?

BTW, I never called you a liar. Wouldn't do that unless I'm looking at you but I do admit, I think you're full of horse apples.

I think the best move is the privatization of much of the care.  It will shrink the bureaucracy and that's the real issue with the VA.  People, employees and patients, get lost in the vastness of it.  So many employees who don't do their jobs or whose ego in their job creates roadblocks to things getting done.  I hope the reform at the VA continues but so far much of what Trump has touted has been done for him (Tester) or is a continuation of past programs (Veteran's Choice) created by Obama.  I truly hope he can hit the nail on the head with a combination of reform measures to privatize and shrink the VA bureaucracy,  keep funding it appropriately and to provide the best care possible for our veterans.

Be nice fellas, Michael could be the next POTUS. Though, not the "first" Michael in the White House.

Just like Nevada legal hookers in every hotel, but now, across the nation.

Ewwwww, not good, be putting a lot of 'lot lizards' outta work in the truck stops...... err, travel plazas and 'pickle parks', across the nation. Just think, the number unemployed at Hunt's Point alone.

Welp, so much for the jobs market.
