Pork I agree But I don't ever see that happening.Half this country wants certain things the other half wants theirs.this socialism stuff scares me to death.Whats this country going to look like for our children. Will we even be a country with the open borders we have now.Free this free that who pays WE DO. If we had a 3rd party it would be just another party controlled by special interests of that party No Change!!!

I don't view our population as half are on the right and half are on the left.  Some issues, maybe, but most seem to be somewhere in the middle on most issues.  Yet, the far left and far right seem to have control of the two parties.  Go talk to a stranger about an issue or 10.  Rarely are you going to find them to be far right or far left on any issue.  Especially someone wanting to have a logical, meaningful conversation.  Many times, they are left on 1-2 issues and right on 3-4 issues, and smack in the middle on the rest.  But come election time, they are forced to choose far right or far left.

Both sides are so entrenched with power and money, it will be a slow change.  It will change though.  Personally, I think the far right is done in probably 10-20 years.  The current demographics of the GOP, are just not going to be able to sustain it's current agenda.  The far left is just too irresponsible of logical math, and many will grow up and realize what being a functional member of society means.  Something will emerge from the instability that is already started.  My thought is that one of the parties will morph more to the center to stay viable, or face extinction.  Even then, a third party to keep things out of gridlock would help.  I am perfectly fine with one of the current parties morphing to the middle.  I am not about a 3rd party, just to have 3 parties.  I am about a party that really does have the middle in their focus, and not just in their campaign ads.

If people want special interest out of politics, then why not start by demanding Supreme Court Justices that don't protect it with "freedom of speech"...

Welll- today is important for conservatives over the next generation.
Will be nice to see an expected slowing of the overzealous environmental and social madness.

This from an ex dem 3 times elected local office holder.
Now a staunch Rep voter.
In the words of Reagan-I didn't leave the party - it left me.

R3G3....As an aside to this conversation, I'm just curious as to what specific examples you see as "overzealous environmental...madness"?

Pipelines were a great example- experts said OK but enviros said no so nothing happened for years- how bout COAL.
Granted those never got so far as the Sooopreeeme court but could easily have and a court that seems to have legislated often instead of interpreting may well  have stopped those things.
The court isn't to legislate but to interpet based on LAW--not whats presently socially popular-leave that to the Soros funded  demonstrators.
By the way-- it was refreshing in the midst of all this mayhem to see a confirmed NO voter volunteer to just vote PRESENT so  another Senator who is a confirmed YES voter can stay at his daughters wedding and not affect the final tally margin.
A rare ray of sunshine in the Senate.

gotta double post-
Lib press report today that the Kav victory touched the 'pleasure centers' of the Rep base -then asks ' but can it last'.
Again proving they simply don't get it--and at this point likely never will-
'pleasure centers' ( whatever that is) were NOT what was hit- it was pure disgust that riled us up and YES its gonna last.
Actually kinda felt the 'pleasure center' thingie to be demeaning to we simpleton 'deplorables'.
Again, they really really don't grasp whats happening here.
I guess the elitists believe if you hit a deplorable simpletons pleasure center there will be a brief euphoric period soon  followed by   the idiot returning to their own personal oblivion.
Actually glad they look at things  that way - keeps them getting surprised as to why or how IT keeps happening.

Pipelines - they get built every single day and have for the last 100 years.  I guess you're referring to Keystone XL,which is slated to start...now?  Helping Canadian oil companies move their sludge shouldn't be at the top of our priorities IMO, especially when we have far superior production fields that aren't being fully accessed.  Dakota Access pipeline was also finished.  There is a great necessity for pipelines but I fully understand the issues that are created when the government comes into your home and says "this is how it's going to be".  As far as the Sioux tribe goes, in my book they have every right to push back after what our government did to them.  Unfortunately, a bunch of paid protesters and scumbags showed up to provide Fox news some video clips.

Coal - ironic, but the nail in the coal coffin came from the extraction of natural gas.  What specific "madness" are you talking about concerning coal?  If you're talking about regulation connected to worker safety, water or air I'm not sure that qualifies as "madness".   Air and water pollution is a real thing that occurs.  I live in the most acidic area in the contiguous US.  It's because of what drops out of the sky as a result of fossil fuels.  I grew up in coal country where companies left holes in the ground leeching out mine acid drainage and tens of thousands of un-reclaimed strip mines.  Your probably familiar with it.  Taxpayers cleaned it up.  I don't feel like having my grandkids pay for the mistakes of companies now.  If the money is there, coal will be too.  My personal opinion is that coal should only be viable if the by-product of burning it meets strict air quality standards.  When I was a kid (anecdotal I know) I knew one kid with asthma.  Now, who doesn't have it?

The "madness" ensued during the Obama era where he oversaw an oil and natural gas drilling BOOM throughout the country.  During his liberal tenure as president the US oil production per day almost doubled from 5000 barrels per day to around 9300!

In all things there is a right way and a wrong way.  Putting regulations on energy and mineral extractions isn't black and white.  There's a necessary middle ground.  Clearly there are instances of over-regulation but I think the perception is generally a myth drummed up to give the right a target.  Money dominates this issue and it always will.  The right is as hysterical about "environmental regulation" as the left is about social issues.

I know a lot of you were very fascinated by Hillary Clinton's server.  Are you equally as interested in the Trump Organization's servers?

Trump Org., Russian Alfa Bank, Betsy &****DeVos, Erik Prince, computer server traffic between all three, etc.  Franklin Foer had a story about this situation the week before the 2016 election in Slate that was sparse & conspiracy-ish.  It's been largely ignored/forgotten, etc. but this article adds a lot of detail to that story & it's awfully collusion-y.  Very long read, somewhat complicated.

Hillary and the Democrats really did it this time.  Holding back this hurricane until this close to the midterms.  Going to pay for that!  Mainstream Media will tell you it is a natural disaster.  I say the Clintons are the natural disaster!!!

SOMEBODY MAKE IT STOP!!
I had this naive hope that when Trump took office he would gravitate towards rational thought and seek to bring the country together.  I also thought that once he made those moves that the Dems would actually work well with him on some stuff.  Ahhh, nope.  Hard to image how it could get any more dysfunctional.  But, I guess, the run up to the midterms will be a real sludge fest...whoopee

The most basic supply & demand economics.  If people didn't want to go they couldn't charge $750.

How's the mueller investigation coming along???

Rick Gates tells the court that they've been busy, he & Mueller, talking about stuff.  As well as talking with other prosecutors in other cases.  Rick Gates worked for Trump from campaign through the inauguration in case you forgot.

The only place Bill and Hillary should be giving tours is in their jail cells. I think I'd even pay the 750 bucks to see that!!!!!!!!

So, you are saying that you want to visit Hillary, after she has been locked up for a little while, with no male companionship?  Conjugal visit?
