I am not crazy enough to ice fish, but I will share my ice report.
I was at Keystone State Park (not the power dam) for a dog walk yesterday. Ice covered from the causeway road to somewhere around the beach. I have no idea how thick it was. Everything from the beech to the dam was wide open.

I called Richters today and they said one fella came in that was fishing a bay in Pymy but so far no one on lake. I fish Walleye on Pymy through ice and sometimes crappy. Pike and gills on Conneaut; gills, perch, and trout on Justus; pike, gills, and crappy in P.I. Etc.

Thank-you gentlemen for taking the time and posting a report, I'm locked and loaded waiting anxiously to get on the ice. Gonna give it a shot and take it a step at a time bright and early tomorrow afternoon.

Jamestown launch area 2 1/2" at best. Sure wouldn't recommend walking on the ice side by side with someone. Further from shore ice was getting thinner, stopped testing when the spud bar broke through with less than 4 thumps. Saw no others on the ice and I didn't have any luck using meal worms. Stopped at a local bait store and was told they didn't even know if, anybody was on the ice.

Not much to report about the south end of Pymie, ice remains about the same thickness around the Marina at Jamestown. Additional snow last night to help blanket the ice. Saw no one else fishing but did see, one individual across the lake taking a look see and I spoke to a member of the construction crew who says the ice is about 2 1/2 " thick at the spillway. Worker also said he was fishing the river below the outlet where he saw a lot of dead or dying shad. I'm trying to introduce a friend to ice fishing and unfortunately, the ice just isn't cooperating to allow two people fishing in close proximity to each other. We did fish from the Marina docks until 5:30 pm where we enjoyed some chyts and giggles as only two, old, retired gear jammers could. Gonna get right back to it again tomorrow however we will be, I think, checking the area around Tuttle Point. Update: Pymie construction; Guide wall along dam highway near completion of stone and re-pointing work. Cofferdam to be constructed around the spillway allowing for stone and re-pointing work to begin shortly. Lake water will be diverted to the overflow spillway until work at the spill house is completed. Your friend and mine, BTDT. PS. If appears I didn't mention catching fish it's because........ we didn't. Stupid fish!

I'd have to say 2 to 3" of light fluffy stuff Sparrow. The docks certainly had that much new stuff since last night. Another note, I didn't hear the noise, saying the ice was building, as I hoped I would.

BTDT No ice popping, that is depressing. Last year I conversed with a fella that lives 1/2 mile from lake and on one of those bitter cold and still nights he went outside and he said it was booming, and that was heard from 1/2 mile away.

Yep Yep nothing like hearing the ice sing and feel the dance. Love the warmer days followed by sub zero temperatures and hear the cracking way off in the distance then feel the shiver as the ice expands and passes, under your feet. Unfortunately it ain't happening yet and with the forecast I'm seeing for my little piece of the Pennsylvania wilds, may not this year.

Checked Tuttle and Snodgrass yesterday 100-150 yds off shore. 4-5" of 50/50 white and black ice. 1 set of sled tracks at Tuttle. Saw half dozen guys out at westford, and 1 out to the south of Snodgrass a ways.

That's good news Crappie_Slayer, just thinking of hitting Tuttle today, if I can rid myself of the little aches and pain associated with my explorations conducted at Jamestown the past two days. Plain and simple....... my azz hurts!! By chance, was that you doing the tippy toeing on the ice across from the Jamestown launch around 4:00 yesterday afternoon? Thanks kindly for the update, hope to see ya on the ice, before it melts this coming week.

I fished about 100 yds straight out from the boat launch at Tuttle Point campground today. Maybe 2" of snow covering 1 to 1 1/2" of frozen slush layered over 3 to 4" of solid ice. In addition there was small areas of unfrozen slush laying on top of the ice. Several drilled holes had water coming over the edge quickly returning the top layer back to slush and reducing the ice thickness by as much as a 1 1/2". A group of three anglers to my northwest picked-up an moved south of the point and a single angler 200 yds to my north stayed til about 4:30. I don't know if they caught anything but my buddy and I, sure as hell didn't. We bailed around 5:00.

That was my buddies and I moving out around the point BTDT. Saw your shanty out from the boat launch. Ice was a good 5" where we fished, but was soft and sketchy right at the point. 2 hits with the spud in some spots. 3 1/2 - 6" was what I measured. Our reward for the long walk was 1 10" perch, 1 dink one, and 1 6"walleye. Few sniffers that wouldn't bite. Left around 6:30. Was nice to be out. Good luck and stay safe everyone.

That dad-burn wind was getting wickedly cold at times. No fishing for me Sat. but gonna hit it again Sun, Mon and Tue, if the ice holds.

I'm no expert by any means Ed. but I'd recommend ya keeping in touch before you make a trip to Pymie. Temperatures begin climbing Sun and remain in the mid to upper 30s, even the lows will hit 30. If I'm not reporting on the ice conditions Crappie_slayer may be posting. Stay tuned.
