Ballston Lake 1/27

Big day on the ice today. I actually ran out of bait. Iced a bunch of crappie and perch. 5lb largemouth and 28" pike. Got bit off 2 times also (probably by pike or pick).

Does anyone know if this lake has walleye in it? A few resources say yes, and a few others say no. Same goes for brown trout.

    Doug:

Glad you had such a great day on Ballston Lake.  Where did you gain access to the lake and how was the ice?  I have never fished this lake before and was just wondering if there is public parking.

My in-laws live on the lake (middle of the east side). Makes for good access. There is a public access area on the north shore, but I don't think the fishing is all that great up there. It's a haul of a walk from there.

You're welcome to join me any time I fish there Ed. My in-laws wouldn't mind a bit, and have more than ample parking. I fish right off there back yard. Honestly, I'm never disappointed whenever I ice fish there.

    Ice was 9 inches.
