Wags, if today is any indication of what steaks I'll be grilling or, what bologna I may be enjoying. I'll be needing recipes using ground 3D or grilling fillet of fieldcam.

Jeez, what nice weather we're having!

I believe a unused antlerled tag gave the privlege to a muzzle loader stamp which entitles you to a doe. I'll stand corrected.

Your antlered tag is marked "antlered or muzzleloader tag."  If you are talking about using it for second season muzzleloader, then yes it is an either sex tag.

As far as I know, using a buck tag to take a doe can only be done with a muzzle loader stamp. The buck tag stays a buck tag as far as archery goes.

"Late season flintlock hunters are permitted to take an antlered deer or an antlerless deer anywhere in the state with their unused antlered deer tag." - From page 29 of the regs

"Limit: One legal antlered deer per license year. One antlerless deer with each valid WMU specific antlerless license." - From page 42 of the regs

Absolutely nothing in there that implies you can use your antlered tag on an antlerless deer in late archery, or any other season, other than late flintlock.

Got an email from an old co-worker. He had an hour to spare Saturday afternoon before dinner so he drove 5 minutes into Jefferson Hills
He had a doe tag he wanted to fill. Got in and set and a big doe trotted up to him. As he went to shoot it he noticed some movement behind her.
Lo and behold here came a buck with his nose flared. Appeared to be in rut..... He stuck it.  big 10 point.......End of story.

Saw two buck in the headlights of my car night 'fore last. Good point, they still have their horns; bad point, they are starting to run togeather again and won't be as wide spread.  Ho hum such is life in Penn's Woods.

Mean while back at the ranch; I'm still looking...............

Went out Monday and sat in the cabin. Kicked a couple of deer out when I went in. Had the over jealous neighbor whack-a-doo run up and down the property line shooting pistols and banging on his tractor bucket from 1:30 to 5:30 pm. Unfortunately the property is very narrow and he succeeded in keeping the deer from crossing through it. I could write a book on this guy..............lmao

Over here.........  Hey.......  WAGS........  Over here!    I'm still at it neighbor; haven't given 'er up yet.  I hant seen hide nor hair of a whitetail except in the headlights of my auto.  I'll be out in the morning fur shure; hoping the weather change will keep 'em up and moving later into the morning.  Plus, the moon will be up earlier into the afternoon sky so, I'm hoping the rascals will be out feeding a little earlier.  Wishful thinking, I know, but I'd put my faith in those old 'wives tales' before I'd believe Rosenberry .

Got a few pictures, of these animals Rosenberry speaks of, on my field cams just the past two nights and, the Amish kids trapping in a adjoining field have moved their traps (FINALLY) so, the deer are coming back past my stands.   Now, if the PGC would allow (only durin' the last week of late archery) the use of night vision and lasers I might get me one!

Had the heat pump at my house replaced on New Years Eve day and spent all night last night and, a good part of the today repairing my 'puter.  Man-o-man it reqiures a lot of time to reclaim a hard drive, reload programs, applications and, drivers but "we got-er done".

Up at 5:00am and ready to go. In my stand at 7:00am. 7:40am trying to get back to the ground in more than one step. Rain started and as quick as you could say "aw (explicit)" the ladder wrungs were coated with ice.

'Still hunted' back to the house (glad I was walking in a field so I could run.) but, didn't see a thing.

Early moon rise this afternoon so, I'm sitting in my favorite deer stand wondering where the moon might be. Hard to see things like that, in a pouring rain!

Oh well, come Monday, I'll be back at 'er again.

    Til then................
