Shenango Ice

Went to golden run this morning to check things out.  There were 9 guys on the ice.  A hole was drilled about 10-12 feet out from the ramp and the ice there was about 3 inches.  Didn't go any farther to see what kind of ice the guys were sitting on.  Nobody else was on the lake (ccelery farm or hartford access).  I will probably be out some time this weekend.  Pray for cold fellas, we need more ice!!

Let my buddy talk me into going. He said he did good tuesday. I got 6 crappies. 1 over 12", the rest were 9 and under. Pucker factor was real high, especially when i looked down the hole and only seen 3, maybe 3 1/2" of ice. Kinda hard for me to catch fish when i cant relax. Should be better by the weekend. If you cant relax on 3" ice, wait a couple more days. Should have 5 by the weekend.... hopefully. What scared me today was it wasn't making ANY noise at all. Know what i mean?

Not bad yesteday 4.5 - 5 inches of ice  kept 12 no slabs, lots of 4-5 inchers to throw back though.

Was there from 1-6:30 tonight...Now I know why everyone has been so quiet the last few days....Should be a good morning too.  Be careful getting on to the ice.  If the slop that is on top freezes tonight, that ice will make it through the upcoming warm spell.

Drove over shenango on Sunday PM. Lake was all open except for a little back in the cove by the Army Corp ramp. Nice white caps with 1 to 2 footers. Lake is also very high, maybe later in the week but not looking to good.
