24v Battery Wiring Question

I just bought a Minnkota 24v 80Lb thrust trolling motor to troll Raystown for stripers.  I understand how to wire the two batteries together in series to get the 24v needed for my motor.  My question is, can I run any of my 12v stuff off of either of the batteries, or will i fry something?  I have a 12v bait light and a 12v bait tank that I want to run off the same batteries.  Any help appreciated!

From one terminal to the other on the same battery will give you 12 volts.  My question would be what is the voltage when the trolling motor is turned on and completes the circuit.  Very interested to know.......anyone?

Get a separate battery for your bait light and tank....small 12v won't cost a lot and won't take up too much space.

Do not put things calling for 12v on a 24v circuit they will fry. Like saltwater rocks says, 2 terminals on the same battery should give you 12v. just to double check I would check with a multimeter. But since your batteries are wired in series to get 24v this should hold true

    I wouldn't try it..

Do you have a cranking battery for a gas motor?  I run 2 of the optima agm batteries as my cranking/house batteries to turn over my motors and run all my electronics.  These get charged as the motors run. They are hooked up to battery selector switch so I choose which battery I want to use or both, or shut them all down when storing.  Then I have two 31 series sears platinum batteries dedicated for my 24v trolling motor. These are hooked up to an onboard charger, so at the end of the day I plug the boat in and they charge overnight.

I troll on Erie often all day with my electric motor and never had an issue with my electronics draining down my cranking batteries to where they wouldnt turn over.
