Line?

Anyone tell me what line I should use on my new 9' noodle and shimano sidestab setup? I am looking for some 6lb line I guess since this is the lightest line I can use with this setup. Any if would be great and appreciated!

PS. Sime have told me to use "PLine" and MEan Green? Anyone else have a suggestion out there.

Pline or mean green are probably two of your best choices for spinning gear.  I prefer berkley lines such as xt or xl.  Everybody has personal opinions and there are many great lines out there.  Tectan is a small diameter line so you can get away with a heavier line at the same diameter.  One thing i've noticed with tectan is that you need to step a line weight to fight fish the same way you would with a normal 6lb diameter line so the thickness of the line is somewhat defeated.

I love gamma!!!  I was at a local shop the guy handed me a piece of regular line stren or berkley (can't remeber) and a piece of gamma line and told me to tie a knot in each. Then he had me try to snap the line the regular stuff broke easy and the gamma well I couldn't break it.. Give it a try....

Powerpro 8lb - the lightest they make.
With a good fluorocarbon 4 or 6lb leader.

Well just a couple weeks ago all i used for the last 4 years was good old spider wire 6# mono in ultra transparent. I switched too Siglon F And love it super strong, unbelievable line.....Spiderwire did me well very, well, over the years and it's cheap 330 yards or like 9$ and get it at wal-mart.

PowerPro is great line, but so is McCoy Mean Green.  Either of these would be good choices.

Give me a PM when you can, i'd like you to try the newer McCoy, Ultra Clear. Same or maybe even better than the original Mean Green. I get the 4 & 6 lb. spools ( 3000 yds. at a clip ) and will send you off a 300 yd. spool of whatever pd. line you'd like to try. Take care,

Tectan or McCoy mean Green, you can get Tectan from Cabela's. Haven't tried the PLine, heard good things though. The Tectan comes in 8.somethng LB with 4lb Diameter. I've used it for years.

The Siglon F works great in cold weather, especially if you are float fishing.  It floats on the water.  I have tried the Mean Green, and Berkley XT.  They work OK, but in cold temperatures they retained too much coil memory for me.  I use a smaller reel and wonder if the smaller spool is also adding to the problem.  Any insight on this?  I am curious about the Power Pro.  Were you using the braided line, or do they sell something different?

I just switched my flurocarbon tippet to Frog's hair.  I fished on Saturday, and as of right now I like it.

I have been using 4# berkely vanish flourocarbon all season and have had no problems at all.  It's casts great and is very strong.  I have had 2 snaps all season and I have caught quite a few fish.  My buddies all use 6# of the same line and have no problems either.  You said you were going to use 6# line so I recommend berkely vanish or one of their other flourocarbons.

I use green 6# XT.....I like it being able to glance off rocks and snags with no real fear of the line being shot afterward.
