Edible Fishing Lures

Hey I am a freshwater angler based in Germany. We have been hearing a lot about the danger of using soft plastics not only to the fish but to us anglers because of the plasticisers within them. I was wondering if any of you have heard such things in the media or know anything about the dangers of soft plastic lures.

I came across this video on one of my subscriptions earlier today

What do you guys think of the problem and have you seen any viable alternatives?

You can't think of a viable replacement for plastic lures?  How about, and I'm just spitballing here... bait?  If you can't find live minnows for some reason, and you can't net your own, order them from a bait supply company and salt them yourself.  Or order them salted.

There you go.  Best imitation for fake plastic yet.  :)
