fished oak 10/30.  good flow and water color.  2 male browns about 8-9lbs each and one small steelhead.  stream was packed with people but not fish.  it shut down after sun up.  many suckers in the stream, a good indication that the water is still very warm for this time of year which is drawing out the "run" of fish.  sandy creek has little to no water

We have gotten almost 3/4" of rain since yesterday, with more forecast for the weekend.  I think this would not be a bad time to check out the run in Sandy, there have been fish coming for 3 weeks or so when they could find water.

Have you gotten up, Slab?  There are still some semi-healthy salmon coming, and the browns and chrome are coming on strong.

Just heard that the left edge water downstream from the bridge above 19 on Sandy is festooned with nice new posted signs, a result of the farmer getting tired of litter, noise, dead fish left and a general disregard for his property.  Also that long stretches upstream that used to be accessible are also carrying new posted signs.  Considering the dearth of public access points on that stream, maybe the solution to inability to get to the fish is to stop stocking it.  But if people treated the ground as if it were theirs instead of having the "I'll be home in PA or Ohio or Wellsville, what do I care" attitude, maybe some of this problem could be avoided.  The stream you trash today is the one you will not be able to access when you return next year.

I clearly recall Slabdaddy posting beaucoup pix of his successful trip last year, so  I did not burn this spot.  People can also get their hands on things called Maps, which show all the streams running  into the lake, all of which have fish in them in the fall.  The DEC Website also has stocking numbers, another well concealed piece of information.   I've never been to the Erie tribs, but I found everything  I would need for an assault, on the FishERIE site without looking at any posts.  But next year , if someone asked where the fish are, my reply will be "in the water", and I'll just lurk around grabbing tidbits from other posters. 
 
Can't fix pig either, and that is why the posters are going up. Locals have been fishing a lot of that stream for years without problems.
