Outboard Dealers.

Does anyone know of any reliable dealers or marinas that sell used outboards.  I am looking for something 150 and that is not a piece of junk.  My motor finally had enough and decided to retire lol.  Could really use some help on this one

That's a tough one, I would consider looking for a used boat with a bad transom and a good motor. I did a ton of research a few years ago looking for a good used outboard for my fathers boat. The amount of really bad reviews out there for most regional used/rebuilt outboard dealers will shock you... We ended up buying a new one, but that's a pricey option...  One more reason why I prefer I/O's or inboards...

Curiosity killed the cat, but for awhile I was a suspect.

What price range and year range engine are you looking for?

Are you partial to any specific engine manufacturers?

I'm always browsing around for boats and come across a lot of used engines in the process...I can keep my eyes out for you if I know what you're in the market for....

I'm not finding a whole lot of engines locally that fit your criteria- but I'll continue to keep my eyes out for something.

Eventually I'm sure that you will find what your looking for...

Here's a couple that I found from private sellers maybe worth taking a glance at.  Of course none are locally in PA, OH, and upstate NY.

If you find a really good deal on an engine it could be worthwhile to have a motor shipped to you/dealer.  Just make sure you do your homework and know what you're getting...

I re-powered my last boat when the original engine blew.  I found a great deal on a 2006 Mercury 150 Optimax and had it shipped here from Arizona. I got the motor for $5k and it cost me $500 to have it shipped & $300 for the dealer to install it.  So for $5800 bucks I got an engine that was almost as good as new [The engine only had 150 hours on it when I bought it]
