OK I haven't even watched that last clip because it struck that the first you posted showed without having to click on a link and then the rest you hasve to click to see.
Do you know why that is.
I have been trying to get the clips not links with no luck over the last coupple of months.
Now I'll go take a peak at your strange band.

UMM OK was that one of those Dea, Phish, Panic extended jams or what?
Fraid I've waded into musical waters that are over my head.
Starting to think if there ain't a rythem section I'm lost.

In my youth I dated a beautiful  jazz flute player, studing at Eastman,  and we broke up cause I didn't get her music.

Thats right she played the flute in band camp and we  broke up.
Some good once upon a time at band camp memories though.

I don't know 2 bob, kinda goes to show how many types of music comes in many different forms.
I thought the washboard vid was pretty awesome. Couldn't really tell on the tiny phone screen if they were using a loop machine or just that fast in generating the sound from their voice. Cool stuff though.

Went to see Mickey Hart and planet drum once in a small theater and it was amazing seeing all the music made from various percussion things you would never even consider as an instrument .

Thanks L-13 I dug it !!

Cyro plays around Albany at least once in a while, and yes that is a lot of looping, but he like MH gets a lot of neat sounds out of things normally thought of as simple.  When Cyro was here in 2008, he did a lot with tubes swung around like little kids do.

2B, most kids that go to camp have to play their own flute!

I edited the link, I don't know why my clipboard is not copying the latest one.  If you don't want to go back it is:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsgW3ZfZEHg.
The Fellini Bros are playing Donna Lee, a Charlie Parker bebop line written on the changes of "Back Home in Indiana" but with the rhythm changed to make it sound like a Parisian Street song, with the accordion and mandolin.  I'm just amazed by the chops they have to execute some of this stuff, even if its not something I would put on the office tape for soothing people in a waiting room.

Glad you like it HT

Here's a couple of other great slide players.

HT I never said it was bad only that some jazz is out of my comfort zone.
The washboard was cool but a couple minutes max and I'm out.
Ithought the different sounds he got from the tamborine was pretty interesting.
Haven't seen anyone do that since the youngest Brady Bunch chick.
As always to each there own.
And yes Charlie thanks for posting it.
Everybodies taste is what I thought this string would morph into.

Thank the heavens for sending me someone who would play my flute so well.

Good guys sit and have a pop at the bar between sets.

It's all good 2, not all things suite my tastes all the time but sometimes even the strange remain :)
Went to a few super hard core metal shows at a local club with my kids when they were young and into that.
Danzing , Rob Zombie, Anthrax and Type-O Negative .. Strange stuff indeed.
Didn't complain , didn't dig the tunes but goofed to myself at the show as my kids would when we would go to the vibes or camp creek :)
Funny thing is now they play all my tunes :)

Maybe a little too slow for Pete Townsends speed, or the speed he is on while Jerry is tripping his face off .

WHen you look at the reply screen there is a you tuibe button on theright side of the lower menu bar.  Once you have copied the url for a song, if you click that button, a dialog box comes up where you past the link.  Once you post the screen will show ( I think)

The brothers are a long running tradition for sure. Love them or leave them but gosh how can one not dig the groove the brothers lay down.

So 2 bob, what's the hang up with getting the video to pop on here ?? Hee hee.
Speaking of which where did O'dark thirty go anyway ?

I must say I have limited listening experience with Gillian Welch. My friend gave me as disc and I will have to dig it out to put on my iPod .
So many roads, so little time. The iPod will currently play 52 days non stop continuous with more still to go. I currently listen to a solid 8 hrs of music per day during my activities , job or play.

Will upload the link tomorrow when I get back on the pc but if you check out a site called wood songs old time radio hr I think you will find many of the above like music for free listening and download . You'll be amazed at who is on there. John Kay ( aka steppenwolf ) and the guy is awesome.
Thanks for again opening the ears to music for the soul.

coldfront

always loved this cover of helm's 'the weight'.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXf-SuBbJa0

"The Weight", like most Band songs, was written by Jamie Robbie Robertson, not Levon Helm.  I think that they shared singing duties around on that song so that Levon took some verses, Rick Danko took some, and  Richard Manual took some.  On this version, the Staples cover some of it.

Now you've done it.
I am gonna ask for mod power.
I'm all butt hurt from that!

Ok I didn't mean it.
I'll just wipe the sand out of my Vag and deal with it.

My new goal is to catch every fish that swims up the SR so they never get to the upper river.
Chew on that!

I got it :)
just didn't have much time until now to get back in the groove..
Here is the link for woodsongs:
http://www.woodsongs.com/showlist.asp

Here is one of my picks:
These links will not work so go to the above main link and scroll down to find the show numbers and artists..
355 Paul Geremia and Daniel & Amy Carwile
Another nice one:
278 Kim Simmonds and Eric Bibb

I watch the shows by clicking on the wmv icon.. Now mind you its a live theater broadcast so you have to stick with the program and go through all the banter and discussion ..
