It's been awhile but lets bring this back up to the top:
Here is a musician that I'm sure in some way has touched all our lives..
I know of no other that has written more songs then him and using his "star" power totally supports our American Vets..
For since this senseless embark began he has maintained a running site in support of our troops..
I urge you to check out his site fully and watch the many videos on there.. Top left hand ..
He is no other then Mr. Neil Young

Sorry TB but cant see the link..
Here is one of my all time favorite tunes.. Written by the Rev. Gary Davis but sung and performed many times by none other then Jorma Kaukonen..
Gives me a little lift when I'm feeling down, like now knowing the night shift is approaching..
Anyway, there really is no video but this is off the album Quah.. Sit back and enjoy the music..

Can anyone explain why sometimes I can get the vid to open without having to click on a link and sometimes not?
PS I think I fixed that link.

thanks guys.. Gotta Love the Feat !! Everyone in the world should at least be subject to the sounds of Little Feat pounding..
Sadly TB, that production period from the vid you posted was their demise for me, too polished..
Lowell George was the MAN !!! R.I.P
Here is probably the BEST Live concert I ever heard in my life .. It had it all going on and I can only imagine what really did that day..
Live from the Rainbow Theater 1977.. Feat,Feat,Feat !!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVJf6LhPB7Q
I almost went to Jamaica last March, Hot Tuna Opened and Played 3 nights with Little Feat.. We were all but there except only rooms available were the high end suites and $10,000.. was just outta reach for us..

Coldfront,
I really couldn't get into Yes , I was more a traveling dead head and the prog rock just didn't mix well with the noodle dancing..
Absolutely they were a great band of musicians and in a league of their own.. Thanks for giving me a second look :)

If anyone is looking for some FREE music to download then here is a good place to check out.. There are tons of diverse artists, including little feat and it's totally easy..
http://archive.org/browse.php?collection=etree&field=%2Fmetadata%2Fcreator
There are some real gems hiding in there but you have to poke around a bit..

Re:music thread 2013/06/14 17:22:15 (permalink)
I liked Yes but as "easy listening music"
Never anything I would go and see live.
But to each their own.
I was never a HUGE Dead fan.
Saw them at the glen ,War Memorial,Roch, Manley fieldhouse,Cuse and they were lit every time spending more time tuning than playing.
All my friends tell me its all about the live shows but I take the vynal version myself.
As I have told you the Alman Brothers were for me what the Dead was for others.

HT  I was going to say something about being more "professionaly" produced.
LG was amazing but a candle burning at both ends.
Saw your sailin shoes ref on the weather thread so I knew you would be digging the feats.
Lucky myself and the wives <mine at the time, went to an outdoor sheel to see them.
Front row center for me and about a dozen rows back I think for Charlie.
Freakin awesomest show you could ask for.
After LG's demise but they still boogied away.

Crappy all the vynal got "lost"
in all the moves a young man makes for me.
Every new addy had less with the culling before the carrying.
Sad really.
I still like vynal myself.
Digital is crisp clean but cold.
Or I'm old and as cold says its the memories I really miss.

Re:music thread 2013/06/17 01:10:11 (permalink)
vinyl albums.. humm, not so much dated but I think one ,maybe my first Album was Jimi Hendrix, Are You Experienced somewhere around 1972.. From then on it was a rash of Hendrix, Neil and CSNY.. At least on LP.. Your all quite right, it was the album art that drew me in but the music was the hook.. Ah, Remember Dr. Hook & The Medicine Show.. Great cover Art and catchy tunes.. Steppenwolf,Floyd and yes, even Hotel California.... Vinyl had it all except durability.. I beat, scratched and warped so many records it was crazy.. We would pile pennies on the stylus to get through the snap, crackles and skips.. Gosh I don't miss that.. While the LP Jackets would become pin-ups on the walls when the records themselves were retired or lost..
Cassettes were to replace Reel-Reel and Vinyl but there became an entire new experience for the Live Music scene.. Holy crap they did for me..
Hrs & Hrs, taping, listening and trading music from taper friendly bands .. Going to shows and exchanging addresses for this and that "show".. Hanging out at friends and group gatherings to listen the show or watch folks jam while the transfers were being made..
Anyone remember Dead Relix, Wants-Haves ? It was a tape traders warehouse ..
Yes those were the days, I truly miss those days but as TB said , it was about the experience and the music made it flow all together..

Todays technology for listening pleasure is far more superior but
re-living the past is always just a memory..
The artist, bands & groups we grew up with and enjoyed thankfully can still be heard today.. There is good stuff happening out there now you just gotta poke around..
Shout Out to :
Widespread Panic:  Check it out..

Peace & Tuna

Are you sure he was ever cool?
Did ya see that sweatervestythingie he was wearing?

Truth is I think he wrote some great songs and having seen multiple SNLs and interviews seems way cooler than he looks.
Always looking for comerciality but I can live with that.
Was making some burns for my wife and was suprised to find "evening" on the list along with the Madonna type stuff, kids these days, and remembered how the rythem always made me feel and the horn section punch.

Now for another techie dummie question.
Anyone tell me how I get a tune for CD to here without utube?
I have a cut much like the Rollin an Tumblin cut done by a guy in a bathroom in San Diego of Crossroads that is just him and washtub base.
With the "studio" echo and all it sounds like he was in Mississppi in the 30s.
No vid just audio.

John Stewart wanted them on his first show of his ill fated late night talk show but the network wouldn't let them on unless they changed their name.
He had them on his last show as a goodbye salute to the beancounters.
It used to be the song I listened to as I fell asleep everyt night.
