How many fish did you kill ( not catch) in 2007?
Looking for honest, non-bragging, fish-eating, wall-hanging answers.
This is a survey, not a jury trial. Here's mine, for better or worse.
5 trout- first day fish fry
6 walleye-annual charter trip
12 steelhead-for smoker, for myself & friends
8 mahi-mahi
1 wahoo
5 speckled sea trout
All fish were/will be consumed.

1 Erie steelhead
A half dozen or so salmon from lake O
Somewhere between 30 or 40 walleye from Erie and lake Arthur
?perch,?bluegills from erie
4 hybrid stripers
?crappies from Arthur
All the junk fish (trout/salmon) were given to friends/relatives
All good fish were eaten/shared with friends/relatives save for 2 meals of Perch that will be gone soon.

stillhead not to be a d--- but why give the junk fish to family/friends if they are junk fish? ive said a thousand times come eat some steelhead with me, i'll make it 4 was and no one will call them that. to each his own though just ragging you.
i kept a bunch of steelhead, perch, even a few 15" bass for the fryer to accompany the perch. out of my spring fed lake in wv they taste very good. only when i dont fill the stringer of perch though. i have a mandatory kill policy for any perch over 10" on my boat. most of them in wv at my lake are 10-15".
would keep walleyes, hybrids from lake arthur if i fished it anymore. very good eating of course. didnt have any luck at the beach this year but blue fish never go back unless they are undersized. love bluefish.

15+crappie from lake somerset

The junk fish comment was also just to get the guys who like them going, like my brother, who eats them. I'd imagine if they are prepared correctly they don't taste bad. I really have no desire to eat them. If I'm going to eat fish, I prefer Perch/crappie, even over walleye.

Chauncy, don,t answer this ? , You ate so many crappy you should have gills!  Panfish, who knows , 50? Trout, 3. Steels, 3. lobsters, 3. Smelt, 400.

Erie: 1 Brown, 1 steel traded for smoked all eaten.
Cumberland river: about 20 Browns all eaten
Misissippi: shrimp about 100
o bass, o walleyes, o muskies, o perch.

I've kept so many fish this year i can't even count that high lol, mostly trout, but their always eaten and never wasted so no problems.

labor day weekend fish fry....
2 qts channel cat fillets
4qts crappie fillets
1 1/2 qts perch fillets
2 16 gallon kegs
don't know how many fish, but none were wasted.

10yellow perch
Approx 35 trout....I LIKE 'em.
2 freshwater drum....
10 white perch
4 kingfish, several dogfish and a bunch of blues....from Delmarva.
And, sin of all sins....5 smallmouth 15/16 inches from the Yough.....that river is absolutely FULL of healthy, growing S/Ms, so do not panic bass masters.
And I loved eating them all, and the best eat of all was the the sheepheads....so there....LOL. That is true.

hundreds of walleye from the lake...two trout...15 dolphin...6 mangrove snapper...8 yellowtail snapper...and a couple hundred minnies, shiners and pinfish.

After reading those totals, I thought WOW...someone kept 90 steelhead. Thats 180 filets at a pound or two each...365 days in a year... I wonder if that person eats anything but caught fish, and are you growing a second head??? add 1 King to my total.

So far, after reading the totals of # of steel bonked (except for those with no #'s included) it seems our fragile fishery is not in much perile. Of course this is just exit polls so far LOL. Dave

I think it is in perile, b/c 90% of the people who keep fish don't own a computer and aren't on here...:) so take these numbers and add 5,000! or more.
