Live Well

I was having some issues with my live well last year. When I would put it on circulation mode it would lose water. Obvious leak somewhere, my question is where and how to find it. I have a tracker 175 and it is very difficult to see most of the plumbing for the LW. Any suggestion on how to find the leak would be great.

If it's only leaking when you run circulation mode, than I would bet it would be a hose or hose connection off of your recirculator pump. Unfortunately, you will most likely have to start to disassemble the boat ( floor ). My suggestion would be to turn the pump on and listen for the motor. If you can, do this with water in the well. If you have to do it dry, dont run the motor too long! Once you've accessed the plumbing, finding the leak should be no sweat.

don't you have an access hole with a cover to get to the pump and hoses for the live well.

I can see the pump from the access hole, but I cannot get to any of the pipes that connect to the well itself. Most of them run under the gas tank and that cannot be moved without removing the whole back deck.
I will start with the pump area first then decide if taking the deck off is necessary. Thanks for all the input.

    Just an FYI...

I run RV anti-freeze through my live well pumps during my winterizing process to prevent any left over water from freezing and breaking something...

Curiosity killed the cat, but for awhile I was a suspect.

If you don't wanna rip your whole boat apart and you don't use the live well, just put plug in the intake at the back of the boat. If you don't fix it, a plug is alot better than sinking your rig.

That's what I do all year long. Its one less penetration I need to worry about that would fill my rig with water when I'm 15+ miles of shore.
