Got out the airbrush today....

Messed around painting some reef runners today. A little sloppy but I think they will work..
Does anyone else on here mess around with painting their own baits?

Very nice additions. The walleye will have a field day with them.

Yes I paint baits to, just on a larger scale. There is alot of satifation that come from getting fish on baits you painted.

My garage is getting ready for some work, so had to "close shop" this year.  Kind of bummed, but always keep myself busy with something...  Here are some from last year.  This was my first go on this lure.  I changed the through wire (see unfinished one) on my second generation and did in different colors, as well as added some prism foiling.  I don't have any photos on this computer though.  Tricked a few wipers on them too...

Here are some others, that shows a much better representation of my airbrush skills...  I added a bill to the perch one.  Caught a pretty nice large mouth on it, casting for northerns.  They weren't fooled, neither were the weeds...

Pork, are those top water? or do the blades make them sink?  They look like they'd be pretty productive on Arthur when a school of wipers are pounding the surface.

Yep, I went through a few different prototypes to get them to float correctly.  I have a larger one, the size of the perch, which has two blades as well.  They work when the alewives are really active, not so much when they aren't.  Although, the alewives are all over them when they want to get their hump on...  They are called Porktown's Horny Alewife.  Guess which one is Porktown's Horny Yinzerwife?  The ones above are Porktown's Sexy Alewife.  I was kind of mad, this year the alewifes were monster sized, so my sexy's seemed to only attract the 20" jack sized wipers.  I was hoping to make a larger version this year, but my band saw is buried by boxes of other tools and supplies, awaiting my garage to be fixed...
