Got home at 5pm to a rain drop or 2. Radio said expect lots of lightning and downpours so I rushed like heck to feed the pigs, take my awnings and ez ups down then mix a batch of bone meal for the garden. Sure enough as Im getting into things it pours..  Yea for a whole 5 mins.. Got soaked and when it stopped it was hotter then heck with steam coming off everything.  I hear there is some REAL rain in the forecast for tonight and tomorrow.. I hope.. And its not a nightmare storms..

T storms rolled through about 2 PM.  Some rain but again not enough.  Reports are that power was knocked out in the Kingston area due to lightening striking a transformer.

We got rain, lots of it. My pool is filled to where I had to drain some. Before the rain, skimmer was sucking air.
The pigs 4' deep x 6' wide muck hole is to the top with water, they are not going in it because they probably figured out it's over their heads, lol.
Creek behind house and mighty muddy river is chocolate and seems full.
This rain did us a huge sigh of relief.
While I don't see much the rest of this week , I heard next week will be a LOT, like 1/2 per day for 4 days straight.

Can't speak for western ny Jack but we got some overnight passing storms last night and a very HUMID day with steady rain until about 1pm, then it was deluge cloud bursts between sun, which made it hotter. The creeks however were not might muddy.
Did my after work chores and another batch of pickles tonight just as it poured again. 10 minutes later Sun was out.

Another cloud burst is hovering. We are expecting rain till Wednesday. Mostly passing storms. There are some mighty ones moving up the east coast heading right to the great lake Ontario
We need it here.

POOP.... lost my power but fear not, the generator fired up and we're back in the saddle 'cept the AC ain't runnin'.

Update; About 3:00 AMish I guess the electric plumbers must of found the leak in the wires 'cause the current started flowing in the wires again to my house and all the lights come back on.

Gotta admit, nothing like getting to play with your man toys (a generator, ya hogs) in the wee hours of the morning.

Be safe everyone.

Is anybody else sick of the rain ?
I know we needed it but not necessarily so humid it rains everyday. Especially right when I get home until it's dark.
Today's ride home my truck said 83 degrees.
As approaching the bridge across the mighty Hudson, I could see the band of rain in middle of bridge and feel the colder air.
Temp went to 75 degrees.
A few miles up it went back to 83.
It's been raining steady here since 5pm.
My pigs need to start building an ark.

We had a nice day today.  Biggest issue is that its 2 weeks too late. I already lost most my  cukes , and the RN is stunted. Just starting to get a few red tomatoes and no bell peppers. Half the beans I got from last year too. Now the weeds are knee high since last week as I only cultivate once a week. Canned a few jars of pickles, but the cukes were short wend fat so not the best. 16 cans of beans done tonight

...and out popped the sun and dried up all the rain and HT ran out, to play in his garden again. 😁

SAY!! I think there just may be a nursery rhyme in there.

No rain, no rain !!
We are getting hammered. Lots of flash flooding and quite the mess out there.
4-6" is WAY to much on top of the 3 weeks of daily rain already .

There was flash flooding here too. Several roads were closed because they were under water.

The rain has been relentless. If I recall correctly, the Little J has been fishable about 10 days this year and none of those days were ideal conditions. The Juniata River was probably fishable even less.

Even some of the local lakes were effected by the high, muddy water, turning chocolate in color.

Everything I say can be fully substantiated by my own opinion.
