Not what I wanted to wake up to a good Friday off. Wet , cloudy and light rain. I have a LOT of outdoors work to get done today and I'm starting to feel like a pig playing in mud.
Btw, we all know dirt is good to eat right ?
Will I can say , I've been eating my share.
Gotta run so I can finish my projects then go dancing to the music of the grateful dead later tonight with the wife 😀

Stupid weather guy. Was supposed to stop by 10 am but any sights of the sun went away. It's pouring out now and this stuff is like glue. The more I scrape off, the more that sticks. Ugh.. thank gosh for muck boots

Ps. It would be a great day for me to have a brush burn . No wind and plenty wet but of course N.Y. has a no burn regulations until May 15, another dummy reg to protect the dummies

Dadburned thermometer bouncing up and down like a yo-yo, around my little area of PennsWoods.  PertinÄ“re 60 degrees Thursday then Friday it was 36 but now today, we're gonna see 50+ followed by, 30s again tomorrow.  WTH??

Thursday night the air was filled with love as a plethora of little froggy's sang their song but last night, not a peep could be heard.  Perhaps, there might be some truth to the old wives tale "better days are coming" and tonight the spring air will once again, be filled with natures music.

This is about enough.

It was 60 on Saturday and Sunday, so I pruned my fruit trees.

This morning, there is 4 inches of snow.

Re:Weather thread 2018/04/02 11:36:20 (permalink)
Thus type of weather tends to compress the spring schedule and require extraordinary efforts to get things done.

Projects that can be paced during okay spring weather — cutting brush, winter damage clean up, etc. — can’t be done with the snow, rain, or mud without being miserable. However, waiting to do them either makes it more difficult (brush greens up and gets harder to lop) or pushes those chores into others which are time sensitive to the green up such as thatching, aerating, and seeding the lawn ( at 3 acres, not a quick task); tilling food plots; spraying the fruit trees; fertilizing everything; putting out the outdoor furniture; etc., all while getting the gear ready for hatches and an upcoming, spur of the moment vacation.

This might be the year I wish there were 26 hours in a day. Or at least an end to the snow and rain.

Well the first bump as happened and it is now 1500cfs.. I also believe the egg take is complete.  There is pack on the hill left so any warm up and significant rain could push it higher.

Old wives tale has it the closer the first full moon following the Equinox, the later the winter weather.  Or, it always snows on Easter when Easter comes early or, something like that.  I need a snow cone or a chocolate bunny or something.

The wind damage was moderate. Several of those canvas covered round buildings used by farmers (the big ones not the homeowner ones) were crumpled like foil.  I saw 2 trees on cars in my travels yesterday and today.  one a side note our ground is covered once again with 2to 3 inches........

To refresh yinz minds, Fairy tales begin with; ONCE UPON A TIME 'but' a Trucker's tales begin with;  YOU AIN'T GONNA BELIEVE THIS S*!T.... BUT.

Well you be the judge, 'BUT'....  I heard by way of the grapevine, here in my little piece of the Pennsylvania Wilds, after today we can expect to see spring like weather and it is suppose to last for a whole five days!!!!  IMAGINE THAT, five full days of Spring like weather.... I'm sooooo happy

Good thing too, I just filled the bird feeders with the last of 400 pounds of SunFlower seed and when that's gone, The Fat Lady sings!!  However, being the nature lover I am, I shan't want to see the birdies starve so I placed directions, to where the RedWingBlackBirds can find additional food.

You can keep them. I have giant flocks of starlings trying to rip every seed out of my lawn.

25 here this am, supposed to be 80 on Friday, then back into the 40’s next week.

I don't know about the Caddis on the Little Juniata Dardys but the peep frogs, in my little bayou, moved south last week.  I think the Sand Hills followed not long after!!!  Haven't seen or heard those critters since the they did their fly-by.

Don't know if this is a sign that spring is right around the corner but I betcha there's a nest right along the edge of the driveway. This crazy bird came flying in at the dogs and landed within feet before doing the injured routine. Would run off and fly right back in.

What a drop dead gorgeous day or should I say  two days?    I took advantage of the situation and did some catchin' up on my sun tan today.   Wore my new speedo, while power washing my house.   Woulda wore my thong but the wife thought maybe it not quite the appropriate garb,  while washin' the front of the house.

We had snow flurries yesterday. It got to 63 today but mostly cloudy and some sprinkles.
Dropping back down tomorrow afternoon with rain turning to freezing or snow overnight. High of 34 Sunday.
There is always hope for next week
