I'm still having an awesome time with the wife here. Not busting my azz pounding water and the fishing is good all around.
While we criticized the jailwater, I think it's a winner. Haven't driven the car since Friday.

Weather was calm but super cold today. Fish definitely redacted to such.
The tailwater expansion is to include more rooms, excersize and spa.
I sure could use a good spa

Pink worm crushed them , thanks for the tip Clint.
The chromer fought well and took me into the backing. As for the others, they came in pretty quickly. Honestly, a laker through the ice fights more then most winter steelhead so I'm not ready to give up my ice fishing, lol.
No fish today.
Behind tailwater at 500 flow is tough. The channel is on the opposite side and I needed to use a float , spinning rod, to get a drift. The fishing is so so back there with 2 smaller fish landed.
I'm home now but glad I went to get my fishing fix. Met a lot of REALLY nice folks on the river, that's what made the trip fun.
Obviously there was the 1 or 2 blowhards but the majority of folks were friendly and we took turns sharing prime water and telling fish stories.
Not sure if I make it back this season but the total experience and lodge was well worth the time spent.

Thanks Rich W, I absolutely LOVE that jacket

Sat I went 6 for 12. Sunday with the cold temperatures, 1 for 2 and today 0-0.
I only put in about 8 hrs total fishing time . Mostly 2 hr stints

Didn't take a lot of pictures but here are 2 more fish

It's official cause TWC says it's official.   Winter storm "Toby" has been named.

But anyways, for those who may wish to track this latest storm, to which I have no reason as to why anybody would, here is the current official NWS weather radar map in real time......I think.

May I point out, at the posting of this official radar map (10:00 PM 3/19), that's some heavy looking stuff moving into Georgia where a tornado warning has been posted for Atlanta.   Keep an eye to the sky and be safe.

Whewwww... looks like we dodged the storm, (3/20) here in NW PA. Bit gusty with the winds out of the East but not unbearable temperature wise.

Now I can get back to reclaiming land along my bayou, cutting down a gazillion (+/-) thorn trees. Folks on the East Coast and neighboring counties may wonder what the strange glow in the sky is, when I light the brush piles, next winter. Come to think of it, so might my local fire department???😕

MAKE IT GO AWAY!!! lol

Monday through Tuesday we were suppose to see 1 to 2" then we weren't and we didn't. Made for a good time to harvest thorn trees for a future bonfire.

But what a surprise when I looked out the window this morning. 😖 Still coming down and it looks like we may be in the direct track of the storm for quite sometime.

Weather dude says we should see sunshine and warm temperatures returning by Friday so I suspect all this new snow should be gone by Summer. lol.

Keep that info coming on your gardening HT. It gives support to inquiring minds wanting to know, where the hell is Spring???

Time to go warm up the 284 but today, it won't be brush I'll be pushing into piles.

Well, having turned 68 on the first day of Spring no less, one would think I would have learned by now toooo put things away, when done using them. But nooo, after ending the day playing lumberjack killing thorn trees yesterday, I leave my power equipment sitting out. Well serves me right.

Good news is the snow has stopped falling in my area and places cleared of snow is fast becoming bare and I didn't plow the snow fully onto the side of the drive into the yard so there shouldn't be, much limestone to rake back into the driveway.  Priceless.

The poor killdeer are looking for any non snow covered spot.

We got about a foot, but it is already melting.

We got nothing from the latest, the temps have been cold as on 2 degrees at the beginning on the week, but are starting to moderate. Snow pack is down to less than a foot on the ground. It is melting nice and slow. It may be time for a few after work trips as I will be able to get about 2 hours in soon enough. Spring cleanup will start soon enough

Soooooo much for the days of no mud and don't expect warm sunshine any time soon.  At least not for us folk here in the North half of the country.  Weather dude saying colder than average temperatures can be expected for us in the coming week.  Oh well, guess I'll just put off to another day, what I wish was done yesterday.

In closing let me just say this to the weather dude... stupid weather dude!!

Dang brother, stop that stupid weather map it's killing me as no matter I must go outside. Kidding about that .Since I don't watch or base my day much off weather, I do like your maps as that's my only real exposure to a weatherman:).

No much sun here today but wind has helped on the drying up mud . Rain bad for me right now . I got lots to do this week outside. As Neil Young just sang on the radio with Lukas , digging in the dirt . I don't want to be a mud farmer.
Neil and the Promise of the Real gang just put out a Netflix movie today called Paradox.
Haven't seen it yet but been listening to the tunes today.

At this point I'd welcome some rain so it would wash away my still substantial snow pack.  At the current pace I'll be lucky if I'm free of snow come mid April.  Lol

Was a lovely day out my way with temps holding near 50F. under cloudy skies. Still not stable enough weather to powerwash the house. Gonna need a few warm days and nights for complete drying to allow for treating the exterior then hope like hell, down don't come down the rain and wash away the stain.

Could of, should of, would of, hit a local lake today if it weren't for the continued need, for harvesting of thorn trees. 8 more hit the ground before being dissected and neatly arranged for drying where they shall remain, for the next six months. At that time and pending moisture content, each tree shall be treated with a flammable liquid followed by several hours of heat treatment producing an end product high in calcium carbonate and a bit of potash.

Here we see a dedicated, trustworthy worker meticulously placing freshly harvested thorn trees in specially formulated drying areas where the trees will be  (using a long time family secrete recipe) transformed into a natural key ingredient used in BS..... er fertilizer.
