Hey Clint, come on down, you can take what you want without charge.
Snowed heavy from mid morning and still coming down.  Expect the storm to move off by 10 PM leaving behind upward to 1 1/2-2'.
Another blast might be headed my way next Monday.

I got what you didn't pafisher.  I got hammered pretty good, 18-20" of heavy wet snow, lost power for 4+ hours too.  Luckily power was restored shortly after midnight but there are still outages in the area with some having no electricity since last Friday.
Today's clean up was an eight hour marathon.  Needless to say I'm beat.

5+" of new snow to be dropped shipped on my front step sometime between this evening and tomorrow afternoon. I don't mind the snow as I truly enjoy the change in seasons. So you can imagine how excited I will be IF this stupid winter season, EVER changes to SPRING!!!

Still really nothing here, some LE is forecast, but it will probably not amount to anything huge. They are slowly lowering the water..........

Got just enough snow to be annoying. Did get cold enough to keep the white stuff from becoming wet and heavy so the chore of manual snow removal wasn't so difficult for the wife. 😜

8 degrees F. @ 0400 this morning (3/10) but all's well that ends well and by the end of this coming week, we should be seeing temperatures back in the fifty's here in NW PA. Lots O sunshine with maybe a dusting of rain through next week. First one third of March coming in like a lion so I'm hoping the remaining 2/3s goes out like a lamb. Be hearing peep frogs soon. OH BOY!

Cept, I should not throw caution to the wind this coming week. We must beware, for the Ides of March will be upon us!!!

Before I forget, Happy Daylight Savings Time!

After the car project, took the atv and did a mud back drag.
It's better then the ruts I had . Maybe it will tighten up or those south winds and sun will dry things .
The weather looks fishy next weekend. I'm due for a break

Given these are noreastern storms, they tend to stay away form the great lake area.
My yard is mud, mud and more mud so as long as they come and go, yup more mud on the way

If anybody muup north of me is wondering why they haven't seen any RedWingBlackbirds as of yet it's because, they won't leave my bird feeders.  Them suckers can put away the sunflower seed, I mean to tell yinz.  Each of my feeders hold 2+ pounds of seed and and have lasted better then a week with each filling.  Not no more, maybe 3 days at best and I'm refilling.  Spring dam sure soon arrive, we have about 25 lbs of seed and then the fat lady sings.   That will put the end to 400 pounds of sunflower seed this season and I can not wait to see the size of the sunflowers growing from my neighbors crop field this year.  Last year the flowers were humongus growing amongst his winter wheat.  ooops

IT IS OFFICIAL, they are here, the Sand-Hill Cranes arrived this afternoon as I was clearing thorn trees and other brush from around my bayou.  I was on my I-284 using the back blade pushing all the debris into a huge pile, to be burnt at a later date, when mother nature sent me a text.  So now I'm taking care of business and wouldn't ya know I hear the birds calling as they circle the water, which is frozen except an area occupied by geese,  then fly off in another direction.   But not before, I single-handedly (was squirtin the dirt with the other hand),  snapped a picture..... of the birds.  So it is official, following the next winter storm, we should expect to see spring in the air.

A compadre of mine sent me several texts from the Juniata River where he was making his inaugural trip fir the season. It was snowing like all get out, the water was 39 degrees, and he caught a dozen smallmouths with the biggest one being 18 inches. Spring is in the air.

Well Dardy I finish reviewing my post moving onto your post then look outside to see it snowing.  To add salt to the injury, I look at my bird feeders that were a forth of the way full and now they are empty with a large flock of Red Wing Blackbirds dancing about the yard, thank-you very much!!!

Send some my way, I'm ready !!
The tv , which I happened to watch this evening, is really hyping up this storm as " the BIG one ".
I'm just not seeing it as much more than hype.
I'm ready for gardening and stripers since the duldrom month is setting in hard. At least I will wet a line and walk some water in a few days to curb my cabin fever. I start to get lazy if I sit to long.

In a sad note , I attended a funeral today of a cousin the same age as myself , 52. Not really what's supposed to happen. He was laid to rest in the ground on his own property in a hand made wooden casket. He loved the outdoors and loved wood so he is at peace.

27 degrees with winds from the north at 10 mph gusting to the mid teens dropping the wind chills into low single digits.

The Ides of March are truly upon us and yet not past. Which means Spring should and dang well better arrive next week. Or I'm gonna start hollering and stomping my feet.😡

If you don't fence your raised beds in, you'll keep trying to rid those rodents.
First 2 years without fencing, I took out 9 and they kept coming back .

Aside from the MUD, I'm ok with this weather . Yea it's been snowing more in 3 weeks than 3 months but at least it's not raining. Spring rains mean chocolate water.
I rarely check the next days weather unless I'm in a watercraft . I have to deal with the hand that's dealt

Clint, when you say another foot. What's on the ground total. Snowpack. We got probably 3 feet in 3 weeks but there is less then 6" to traverse through unless it's wooded and shaded.
Thanks

Well we got another foot plus last night.  Rich before yesterday that was it 6to8 on the ground. I just waded out with snow over my Muck boots on a path I cleared last night. It was light fluffy LE snow though. Probably got 2 feet from this one total.   I would say on the ground will be 18 plus inches this weekend. Won't know until this settles down. At this point there is easily 2 feet on the ground right now.
