DAVY KNOT

Just taught myself this knot, does anybody use it on steelhead? Just wondering how it would hold up, i like that it doesn' t burn even flourocarbon when you cinch it.
thanks in advance,

As long as there is line on line when you're chinching, there is friction, therefore heat. Would still be wetting this knot when tightening down.

Checked it out on You-tube and it looks like the answer to frozen fingers.
My question is the same as D-MAC.
Has anyone used it on steelies, and how does it hold up?

Hooked a few steelhead this evening the knot held up great. I did use the double Davy knot though, which is nothing more than going around the line twice at the end. Very easy to tie and no burning when cinching it up i was using 4X Mirage flourocarbon tippet.

Good for you! This is my go to knot nowadays and it is much easier on monos of any kind.  Easier to tie with cold fingers than most if knot all knots And the double davy knot is rated one of thee highest for knot strenght. gl, John
