As of last weekend the lake was frozen, but the spring holes were definitly showing (it looked like open water in front of BF beach).  Past two years on this lake have been really MISS!  Hoping for better fishing this winter....

i like to fish by the springs early for trout
then the bass & bony's tend to move in
if your looking for perch , the cove by the access is good for bony & perch
another trouty place is across the lake to the left off the point

    :
You can jig up the perch with Perch Eyes or small ice fishing Rapalas (perch type).

    As reported Today:
    there is better water North!!!!
Ice on Queechy is not good.
2.5" black ice with about 2-3 inches of slush and to top it off there is another crusty layer about 2 inches. So when you step down and break through the top you land on some slush and then hit the black ice. About a dozen or so people fishing near shore out there today. I called it quits when one guy went knee deep through the ice. Lucky it wasn't worse.
I did not feel comfortable on that ice today. Too much weight on the ice making it scary.
