Okuma Rods & Reels
Does anyone use this brand? I was looking at one today and kinda liked it but didn't buy it. Are they junk or are they decent? I noticed on the show RIVER MONSTERS Jeremy Wade was using an Okuma reel. Just wanted to get others opinions on them.

I use Okuma Inspira spinning reels and never had a problem.
These are the older models-I have not needed a new reel
Okuma noodle rods are pretty good for the price
I also have 2 depth finder reels but have not used them much.

i use 2 okuma avengers. they're the smoothest reels i've ever had. no problems with bigger fish. i've never used one of their rods, but if they're like the reels. they're totally worth it.

The reels are good, its what I use for Steelhead and other fishing. Never had a rod though.

i have a Okuma Stratus that i use for catfishing. i like it so far, seems well built and the drag is smooth. for what i paid for it i think it's a bit nicer than similar priced shimano or pflueger reels.

I was asking because I found an Okuma Trio reel on an Okuma Tavros rod. The combo is $100. I checked online and the reel alone is $79-$89. Thanks.

Okuma offers the best spinning gear for the price on the market, rods and reels. IMO.
The Lord has blessed us all today... It's just that he has been particularly good to me.

I've been running an Okuma Epixor and love the reel.
FishUSA had a good price on them and you can't beat the customer service...

Hey Bingsy , you have a little something on yer nose , just sayin'   Back to the rod and reels , I have 3 Okuma rod and counter reels for trolling and love em. I also have an Okuma fly reel . Have not had them ever fail me. For their prices they are quality products IMO.

Okumas are okay but the reels are a bit heavy.

I use a trio with the c3 rod. What a spectacular setup for the money. I think I got both for about $100

I found a Trio reel with an Okuma if i'm spelling it correctly Tavros rod for $100. Wasn't sure if that was a good deal.

Most of my reels are Okumas. ULs up to the Trio for my steelhead rod when I want to change up from the fly rod that also has an okuma fly reel. Never had a problem.

I have used the Convector CV20-DLX for a few years now as a dedicated reel for trolling for musky. I blew out the gears the first time I used it and had to send it back. They fixed it and returned it and it has worked fine ever since. I have a feeling it was a defect or the gears were not properly hardened or something because it has been flawless ever since getting it back.
It has 17LBS of drag pressure so I can crank in a legend plows going 5 mph with no problem and the drag is very smooth.
