new mesh developed for centerpin fishing

A friend who is an avid steel head fisherman - called me and ask I could find any info on a new mesh developed for eggs and centerpin fishing.  He was told its being used with success - however - searching the internet I came up with no information - anyone have any info - and where it can be ordered???

    Are you talking about scarving?

If you are talking about scarfing, I've used it many times.  No real difference between this and regular mesh, except that the colors are much more vibrant and you have to cut to size yourself.

I think you may be talking about scarving. I am a Pin fishermen and tied some brown trout eggs with scarving for the first time this past week. I like the appearance of my sacks much better with scarving than with regular netting. You can get it at fishusa.com under egg sack tying materials.

    Good Luck

I ordered a couple of pieces of scarf and figured by pasting the link it would make your search a little easier. Really nice stuff.

Just remember to buy some scissors/hemostat combination to get the scarfing off the hook.  It's tougher than the plastic netting.  Been using the scarfing for a few years and it's nice but it doesn't result in more fish or better sacks really.  I use it because it's easier to pack and tie with not to mention that I have about 40 scarfs

Just fished the tubes on Elk.  Pulled 40 Steelies out from there to the riffles.  Was only there for 4 hours.  Its absolutely fantastic fishing there now.  Was up there on New Years Eve and did awesome as well.

I've used my wifes pantyhose to make catfish bait.  Wrap a chunk of chicken liver in the panyhose, put a size 2 hook on it, stick it a couple of times with a knife and chuck it in the water.  It didn't work as well as it I thought it would.  Big ol chunks of chicken liver works best.

Downstreamdrift, thanks for the tips. We had one heck of a day yesterday. Used sacks tied with the orange scarfing material. Nice stuff.
