First weekend of trout

Anybody else heading up north for the first day of trout. My buddie has a camp near costello. We head up friday and usually have several beverages thru the day. Then we hit the alleghany on saturday and sometimes the first fork.

I fished it almost every yr. in May & late Oct. from where Little Meddix entered Meddix down stream to 'bout 3/4 mile. Little Meddix is just over loaded with wild Brookies. Laurel Run was my favorite stream from the swimming hole on Blackwell Rd. down 'bout a mile down stream from the old bridge (new 'bout 8 yrs. back or so) That detour was a bithc with that bridge out for so long. Loved it when the fish fuzz told me it was too polluted to hold trout. Little did they know I'd have 50 plus Wild Fish days on it for yrs. past

We have a camp up on the McGeorge Road. I fished Medix up and down where Little Medix hits Medix Run. Not the greatest opening day because the water was so shallow and the trout just stayed where booboo threw them all in. They must've thrown 300 down Medix Road, where people swim in the summer time. Just started really getting into fishing the past couple years. I knew Little Medix held natives so I'm going to try that out here one of these weekends coming up. Do you just fish it up the mountain, the whole way to where the spring is?

Helluva a bridge they put in on Blackwell! We go down there every once in a while and "have a picnic". (aka make a fire and drink beer) It's beautiful down there. I'll have to give that stream a try sometime. I know Laurel Run also crosses under the bridge on the Tyler Road. Has anyone ever tried fishing down from there? I appreciate the info!
