Keystone State Park

My son and I just started carp fishing last year. We have enjoyed it. Does Keystone State Park have good carp fishing? Thank you,

A paylaker I know once told me that there are some 20+ lbers in there.

Is there any truth to this? I can't say for sure, but this lake has been on my "hit list" for a few years. Just haven't found the time to fish it yet.

Without doubt, there are carp in there (what PA lake doesn't have them??). Question is: how big are they and how many are there.

The corner closest to the bridge parking lot, (kinda opposite the beach) as well as the small bay near the handicapped accessible cabin's dock always seem to hold carp. I've never caught anything huge but there are plenty of them to keep you busy.

Thank you for your responses. We will be trying Keystone State Park for carp this year. Is Keystone closed to carp from April 1 to trout season? I want to make sure March is still good to fish there.

Yes, KSP can be fished until March 31. It is an Early Season Trout-Stocked Waters Program lake. It closes to all fishing from April 1st until opening day of trout.

I was crappie fishing there last spring with a float and jig tipped with minnows. Kept getting short hits and lil run n drops. Finally i decided to just feed line for a while before i set the hook and they ended up being carp. Never had em eat minnows before. Got 3 total up to 18 lbs. And 1 crappie haha
