My bad its not 700 miles its 874 miles from Erie pa to loon lake round trip according to Google also says it is 7+ hours driving. If I'm wrong let me know but that is what I searched. That's 220 for gas if I don't bring my snowmobile. Anybody up for splitting gas bill? I would love to go sit up there n be lazy!!!! All I asked for was some info not for a guide service. Thanks tho. . . .
No doubt, never said lazy except myself.. I wouldnt do it as well unless a group did a weekender.. No Idea where anyone lives so conditions are from Albany North in NY.. Guide service.. lol, just a joke and offered up some places to fish & lodging Here in Northern , NY .. All good and hope you find hardwater.. We like ICE :)

Has anyone ever fished/caught walleyes at eaton? not looking for a spot to steal i just saw on there last fish report that they caught some in trapnets and also it said that it is one of few lakes in pa where wallleyes can naturally reproduce.

i have caught walleye there through the ice and in a boat, the lake does hold them and some nice size (23-24")and they do reproduce.

i also looked at wherre they stalk walleye fry and fingerlengths on the pa fish comm. site and they dont put them in eaton. wouldnt it make scense if they did put them in eaton since they will reproduce there. many ppl dont relize the there are very few lakes around that walleyes can actully reproduce

was at eaton today, the side closest to ny state.
ice was solid and about 5 to 6 inches
little snow on top apon ariving and about 4 inches of snow when i left.
no slush.
caught tiny perch, one after another that was it.

Should have put those tiny perch to work under a tip up. . . Those hammer handles are fun to catch!!!

Got 2 perch a13 1/2 & 14" and blue gill & crappie brought home 24 in all g0ing out again in the after noon. caught 2 leagel pike but you can have them.

Fished Eaton yesterday lost both a big bass and a big pike on PA side in AM. Moved to NY side in afternoon got into a few nice Crappie and a jumbo perch. Ice was 4-6 in. Glad it looks like fishable ice is finally here.

Went to Eaton today to check it out after the rain. The ice is crystal clear and 5 inches thick. Should only get better the next 2 days. a lot of little perch and blue gills.

The ice on eaton is good to go was on it today 5" clear ice the fish did not want to bite but the ice is there.

I am pretty sure the whole lake/reservoir is in PA, unless you were just distinguishing sides as directions (west,east).
