Wanted: 30/40 krag... u.s. springfield

Looking for a 30/40 krag u.s springfield. My grandfather had one that was supposed to be passed down to me when he died ,but as soon as he passed away, family members from round and round came in and robbed the place blind. I know it will not have the same sentimental value as the one my grandfather had but regardless I liked the weapon and the way it shot. It was the model that had the 12" inch, or so, wood stock that wrapped over the barrel. i believe it was the shorter stock, didnt go clear to the end of barrel. and had the adjustable flip up sight, not the peep hole. I dont much care about the condition, just that it operates. Let me know if you got one available and gimme your price.

Does anyone know the original barrel lengths for a US springfield 30/40 krag? I believe they are 30in. but cant find any info to back me up. This gun here has a 23in barrel, im thinkin it had to be shortened.

 ive noticed. lol. there sure seemed to be a lot of them made though. it dont necessarally have to be completely original but id like the original barrel length and nothing to be altered that will effect the original operation of the gun. Did you see the one i posted from gunbroker.com? Thats a nice customation, besides the short barrel.
