ship repairs

Anybody hear about the ship repair supposedly going to bring in 6 or 7 ships? Looks like if we get any ice it'll be busted up all winter. So looks like its going to be a not so good for ice on pi bay.

We may only have a 5 week ice season this year. With the up and down temps, a freeze / thaw / freeze, isn't out of the question. Dont think shenango will be in any shape after that thaw. Hope pymy and PI hold up.

Figured I would see about any Lake Ice..I use this sight often http://coastwatch.glerl.noaa.gov/modis/modis.cgi/modis?region=e&page=4&template=sub&image=t1.11345.1603.LakeErie.143.250m.jpg It really gives you a good view of things.. Doesn't look like the repairs will require a ice-breaker..

From what I hear if we do get ice it'll get busted up pretty good because they are storing the ships for repair at dobbins. Every time they go to move 1 they will have to bust the ice.

The head of the bay takes some time to get good ice. Atleast it did the past 2 years. We might just not get the chance to fish the main bay thus year. I believe that horseshoe and misery will be fishable in a couple weeks.
