Black Moshannon

I'm heading to black moshannon for some camping next weekend and would like to fly fish the special regualtions area. Any holes or nice streches of water would be much appreciated. Also since I'll be up there, I'm going to do some small game hunting. Any ideas on good places to go in the park?

Just go and fish. Make your own luck...and post pics.

take a short fly rod. it's tough fishing with all the bank-side brush but if you get into the water and take it slow you should have some catching fun.

I used to do real well with beadhead pheasant tails. Been a few years since i've fished it but below the Huckleberry bridge was always nice. Used to park at the bottom and fish it to the bridge. Also egg patterns worked well. Hope this helps.

My first time fly fishing using a fly.
What I found out. Watching me cast would have been a humorous day for anyone, the trees I swear when I'm not looking reach out and grab my fly while casting. I know my casting was flawless but those trees managed to gobble up at least 5 or 6 flies. But it was a blast and as you can see a SUCCESS. One brown in the bag. Thanks for all the help DT couldn't have lucked into that baby without you.

If I agreed with you we’d both be wrong.

Went out fly fishing a few weeks ago for the 3rd or 4th time, had that same problem with trees, freaking things love any fly, doesnt matter if you are matching the hatch or not..
