What species are u after? Salmon, browns, or steelhead. You will encounter all three at the oak. I will be fishing the same week! Also, are u a fly fisherman or a spin fisherman?

superstone I do fly fish. And I will be mainly targeting the browns, steelhead and hopefully an atlantic or two. But if I catch a zombie king ,legit,I wont be upset.

Actually, Stone, the guy that I'm going up with, was up last november. He did say the smallest brown he landed was 4 lbs. thats awesome. With the biggest 10 lbs 29 in.

Great! I only flyfish so i can give u some flies that work for me. Glo-bugs in chartreuse and natural shades of orange tear them up. Also hares ear nymphs and white and tan sucker spawn. Use lighter tippet 6# flouro and even 4# if water is clear. Browns can be finicky at times, but as u mentioned they average around 7#s. Make sure u are getting down to the bottom or u won't be in the fish! Hope this helps. See ya on the stream!

was up this past wednesday. fish are in. cream sucker spawns, small #12 stone files and carpet flies all worked for the browns. a few steelhead were also caught. biggest problem was the the amount of salmon in stream. guys foul hooking them and then chasing them all over the place!! going back up this tuesday.

Bad conditions at Erie tribs can ruin a trip. Fortunately, with the dam on the Oak, the water stays pretty consistent. I have never seen it blown out and unfishable. I'll be in the blue ford supercrew parked at the archers club. Maybe we'll run into each other up there.

just fish single egg patterns on 4 lbs leader flouro of course. Natural colors. Fished home cured singles on size 12 gammeees last week 4-6 lbs leader, Crushed the browns, steel are getting thicker everyday more and more each day. People overthink this time of year.
