YOUTH DAY

I didn't see no post about any youngster killing any?It was an awful day way to wind where we hunted.I did call in a 6 inch beard to 13 yards with 4 other jakes less then a inch but she passed on them said she was waiting on a big un.We hunting till twelve setup one more but he had lady friends.Been out at night and day break but been struggling to find alot of birds.I did get one to gobble at 2 spots last night so may that's a good sign of things to come.

Wind and rain here too. We had two different long beards in to 40+ yards but with a bit of brush and borderline range I wouldn't let the grandson shoot. It was one of the very few times I was wishing for a deke. Did manage to get soaked even with goretex. When your sitting in water nothing works well. I'am not finding many birds either but don't know if there not around or it's just the lousy weather.

We got one saturday! My little sister got a very nice tom with a crossbow on her first ever turkey hunt. We saw many gobblers and hens and had a blast. Rain held off until about 10 which gave us plenty of time. Ed
