Michigan flyfishing question

Hello,
My wife and I are looking to take our vacation this summer up in Michigan and would like to do some trout fishing. Does anyone have any recommendations or suggestions of where to go. Unfortuneately, we can't go till early July. I've checked things out on the internet but that only tells you so much. Thanks in advance for any and all replies........ Bill

July is not a bad time of year, but Michigan has some fantastic rivers & streams. Check out the pere-marquette near Balwin Mi. Great for brown & rainbow trout, king salmon and steelhead at different times throughout the year. For starters check out this site.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I checked out the Muskegon online today also. We do 90% nymphing and pretty much streamers. I'm not real big into dry flies. Looking forward to the trip. thanks again.... Bill

For a vacation with the wife, I'd stay in Lundington.  It's at the mouth of the pere marquette along the lake.  Baldwin would be where to stay if you were on a fishing trip.  Bear creek a trib of the big manistee is nice.  Some salmon in the little manistee around then but it's hit or miss.

My reports and advice are for everyone to enjoy, not just the paying customers.

Hitting the Muskegon twice this year.  Late may for browns and late October for Kings.

When my fly is down...I'm having a good day!
