Smelt???

Does anyone happen to know anyplace in western pa that sells whole uncleaned smelt??

    I usually get them at local grocery stores. Last year I got some really nice large ones with heads on at Pechins in Uniontown and I also saw them at the Market Basket grocery store in Johnstown. Giant Eagle in Somerset also has had them in the past as well as Roof Garden Market in Somerset.

    Sams Club had nice ones last year but they were gutted

    tiny hooks and maggots up at conneaut, under lantern light. (been a few years)

    Can't answer for the original poster but I like the whole uncleaned ones with heads on for pike bait. It's probably all in my head but I think they work better.
