The bay is completely frozen as well.  I'm not sure about thickness, though.

deerblazer93....Of that 4 to 5 inches of ice, how much of it was black ice?
Most of the lakes around here are honeycombed or white ice on top.
    Thanks for the report.

went to misery bay and caught 1 perch. couldnt take all the action so went to horse shoe. Dropped the camera down to see hundreds of bluegills but could not get them to even sniff the bait. in all my years fishing i have never seen a blue gill not want to eat.

    Hello fellow fishermen and women.
Took a drive today, the bay is starting to tighten up again, a few more days and we should be good off 2nd parking lot, forcast is calling for cold temps. Misery had about a dozen guys on there today, ice is 3.5 to 5 depending where you are at. No one was having any luck. Horseshoe had no one, ice was good, the promblem is there have been reports of alot of shad over powering h.pond. Took a ride over to marina there was on fishermen there, I did not go out and see if he was doing any good, good ice there down towards the head up to just the ramp that they crane the boats, looked very good.
Then I went over to Chestnut, no one there but there were about 6-8 huts behind the convention center, talked to two gentleman coming off and they said alot of little ones, ice was anywhere from 2 to 7 it varied throughout, off chestnut he said about 2-4.5.
There is your current ice conditions for PI.

one says good and one says no good. So I think I'll wait till next week just to be safe, no sense in risking anything with my boys.

use a spud bar or risk death right now.  all areas of the bay are risky.  Off conv. center, I walked out to about 100 yds and found 2" of black ice, and came back to fish 5" of chitty ice.  be safe.
