A first for the little j

Was driving home Sunday morning from spruce crick. Got on shovel works from 45 headed to 453. Went under the tunnel up over the hill and as I headed down my buddy yelled stop.. look ! I look over in the trees above the river and there's a fully grown mature bald eagle. He hung out for a while and we followed him as he flew upstream.

Saw one on the frankstown branch years ago but never the little j. Pretty neat stuff. Couldn't get the camera in time.

My reports and advice are for everyone to enjoy, not just the paying customers.

    I haven't seen one there myself, but I know of other sightings on the river.

    Wow, that's cool.  I have never seen one there.

    The water was too high to see suckers. I tried to go home shovel works last night about 6:00 and the water was about 2 inches from the top of the guard rail. Was thinking the lowest spot was under the culvert. Probably could have made it but it was fast flowing water. Not a good idea.

    I saw a mature baldie on Harpsters property on Spruce last summer. They seem to be everywhere anymore; I have seen a bunch this year in some less than remote areas in the western part of the state. And no before anyone says it I didn't pay to fish Harpsters either
