Still doing it?

Anyone still going out carp fishing this time of year. In the summer I was getting them in the shallows on a local river and I haven't had time to get back and see if sight fishing was still how it's done or not. This is my first season as a carp angler and I am hooked. If anyone wants to go out some Sunday drop me a line. Btw I will bring the flies if you'd like

I have a friend that is still catching carp on bait in local lakes. Don't know if this counts, but we caught 3 this past week in the 24-30" range on mini-foo jigs while trout fishing at upper Twin Lakes. sam

Cool thanks. I'm going to head out to the river in a bit to do some scouting.

That's what I figured, but it'd be a start.  I'm not much of a fly fisher, but got back into a little last year as I've mentioned before, but didn't get around to doing any fly carpin' this year.
That is a cool decal tho.  Got a few carp decals on my truck myself.

There's a good bit of info. out there on flyfishing for carp if ya know where to look.  Here's a previous thread with some links: http://forums.fishusa.com/m_241599/mpage_1/key_carp%252Cfly/tm.htm#242298
    Here's another site: http://www.roughfisher.com/

I had a quick look around the river yesterday----wasn't really planning on fishing, but spotted a carp close to shore at the one spot and quickly grabbed my fishing rod and loaf of bread (usually have some bread in the back of my truck, just in case).  Tossed in a few pieces of bread and tossed in my bread-baited hook and in a couple of minutes had the carp on and landed.  One cast, one carp, then I left.  If I was using my flyrod, it woulda probably been many casts and no carp.  Got a Nov. carp tho, so they're still rippin'.

I put my fly rod to steelie fishing until spring. That fly looks great for carp! I like using anything black myself. I fish shallows while there spawning in Erie its a blast. Theres nothing like a 10+ carp taking you to your backing. Any other fly pics on what your favorites are for carp?
