I'm with kyler, my favorite fly is the pheasent tail nymph, to use and tie, recently I have been trying to see how many I can tie in an hour, right now my record is 13, and that is not counting prep. time i.e. putting the beads on the the hook, but its fun.

I really like any fly that is not time consuming to tie that catches fish, I tie a fly that is nothing but peacock herl on a size 20 to 22 hook, fish that as a dropper and it really does the trick......and I can tie like 20 in an hour....LOL.

sculpin you might try putting some grizzly hackle and add a lil weight with the hackle you will have a griffens gnat palmer the hackle through the herl.no bead will ride just on surface with bead ride near bottom

My fav. to tie is a Sulpher (Dry) I came up with. Nothing fancy really, but it's my own creation and it works well.
