Doughball

Looking for a cornmeal recipe for doughball. My dad used to make one when I was a kid but I can't remember it for the life of me. Hoping someone can help me out.

A simple one is to boil water and measure equals parts boiling water to the equal part cornmeal. You can add flavoring if you like such as koolaid or vanilla if you want as well. I do vanilla after but if you use koolaid or jello put that in the boiling water so it can disolve. Thats a basic one to get you started again.

1 box jiffy corn bread mix,2 eggs,vanilla,1/2 cup sugar(more or less)1/2 cup flour ( more or less)kneed together add h2o or flour till you get a nice sticky but firm dough.sprinkle some more flour into a pan flaten out your dough add drops of food color & kneed in. add flour as needed to keep it from getting too sticky. keeps all summer in the fridge.Instead of food color jello or koolaid can be used for color & extra scent. i like to make mine lite green or yellow but the sky is the limit with colors

i agree with fishken. personally i would add the coloring to the liquid though. the color mixes better that way. unless you're trying to get a swirl pattern in the dough, which is what i do for winter trout.

    pie filling works wonders too.
