Creek Chub Lures

Hello Everyone. I am new  to this forum and to Lures. I was recently given some CCBC Lures at a garage sale and I wanted to learn more about them. I only live 10 minutes from were the Lure was made and now I think I am HOOKED! No pun intended. I was give 3 Lures and one is a Nikie which I found information about. The other two I have not had much luck. I took some pictures but I didn't see any way to add two images. I am a super big green horn to lures so excuse my ignorance :) I hope to learn a bit about these. 

I will have to pick that book up. Does or have any of you seen this before? I have seen a red and white Dinger but no all black. On the metal lip is that the date it was made? I just think this is going to be my new hobby. I am thirsty for knowledge and hope to get some answers. The second image I have yet to find one like it but that may be due to my lack of research on the propper forums or sites. Thanks again.

The first lure is a Creek Chub Dinger, catalog # 5600. They were made from 1939 thru the 1950's. They were available in 8 factory colors, including solid black. Based on condition it could be worth fron $8.00 to $60.00


The second bait is a Creek Chub Surface Dingbat. Catalog # 5400. They were made from 1938 thru the 50's. The color is either Fireplug or Rainbow fire, both colors were available fron 1950 - 1954. Mint condition probably would get $40.00- $60.00 Mint means brand new, no marks, etc, without the box it came in. Someone who is hot for that color might pay more.

Good luck with your collecting. I collected for 10 years, 20 years ago. Collecting only Creek Chub pre-1940, Ex-plus or better. Last spring I sold my baits [30] for a little over $5000.00.

Here are a few I had:

Rainbow is really a nice factory color, as you probably know not the same as fireplug or rainbow fire. that Baby Pikie in my foto is Rainbow. Your "special" color baits can bring big bucks. Creek Chub would make baits in special colors on request if you ordered one dozen. I had a plunker that normally would go for $60.00, but it was a "special" solid red. A guy paid me $360.00. Glen
