with that system do you still have to melt stuff?

Just got a bottle of absinthe, from Raz the banned.

i'll take some more pictures tonight...

The tube is junction and thin tub all in one
you tie the fly you want... cut the junction tube to length and then add the type of cone you want on the front
trim the front so there is a bit of tube out the front of the cone and just hold it to a flame to melt it back
that melt gives you a clean surface for the line to rub on and secures the cone in place

Nice KJH! Might have to give that new system a try.

I tie mainly on Eumer products and I do not mind the melting, especially for the head of the fly as KJH spoke of...

Aint no pro tube system but this system should work just fine. 480 8mm beads for $2.09. Cant beat that. They fit over Eumer small just fine. They keep the fibers spread out just fine as well. Give it a go people, this may just work on the cheap. Here are the photos.

Nice flies D-nymph. Loving the last one. Tied something similiar to that a few months back. Have yet to try it for steel but the local trouts have been liking it

Looks like an expensive mistake.... He lost 4 indicators, a dozen flies, an entire spool of tippet, and a whole pack of water gremlins all in one cast.

I have been interested in some of Nick Granatos flies so I tried a few of his Chubby Muffins (on the left) and some Whitlock Sculpins to the right. These Chubby's look promising and are quite easy to tie. They look as though they will fish fine but haven't had a chance to get em wet, soon, very soon, strip strip strip

thanks. i knew that came up this fall sometime and i couldn't rember which way they went. does that matter if there is no weight on the fly to give a try "top and bottom"? that's the only reason i wasn't too worried.

The weight doesn't matter it is how the hook lines up with the fly. The way that it is rigged in those pictures will make it offset alot and possibly miss fish, if I am not mistaken.

it has to do with the way the line pulls the hook
